What does it say about our cars when 2 weeks in a row, the WB's Smallville is crashing and blowing up decent straight 3rd gen Camaros. They ran a red one off the road and blew it up in last night's episode and next week they show a blue one going off a cliff. What the crap! Here I was happy to see the car on the show and they went and killed it.

Poor car! A moment of silence please...

Now Dawson's Creek, only if I'm desperate...

 

I saw that last night too. I was going to make a post about it but I have been busy at work today. I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed.

 

That was a pretty good episode.....besides seeing the Camaro get completely destroyed..... I thought Clark could have atleast saved the Camaro....! Looks like next week another one is getting destroyed....but..that is one hell of a show...it's great!

 

It's alright guys.. Lex is going to buy Pete a new Camaro.

 

That must be the one they wreck next week!

 

It was still nice to see a thirdgen back on tv.

Its called Smallville, it's on the WB (channel 3 for me), its on Tuesdays at 9 pm...

 

Yep, it's on the WB....it's about superman before.....he's superman....clark kent as a teenager....it sounds corny....but it is a really really great show....

 

I love that show, but I missed it this past week,

 

being run off a cliff??? I'd rather not see one then...

 

I think that they used 2 different sport coupes,one of them seemed to have been an 82-84 but the one that gets destroyed was an '85-87

 

i like that show to and thought i was the only one to notice.

I hate how in almost all TV shows and movies, all the cars seem to be in great shape, would it kill them to show cars that actually have rust, primer spots, faded paint, etc.


I am more upset over the sky blue porsche that got driven off a bridge, which also had a straight body. I hope they never do it to a Countache, if they do, I am writing a letter to the producers.

Its bad that they destroyed the thirdgens too. I don't see why they couldn't destroy a beater.

 

I'm not sure but I think that the whole car is twisted,look at the rear wheel.It's tilted too.

Earlier when he was driving it it had the bigger nose slots then to the skinnier ones when he jumped and it blew up.

it looks like the glass is coming out because the car was most likely modded up for the stunt crash. Im a huge Knight Rider fan and the series is back on Si Fi channel and its cracks me up when I see the stunts being performend with the cars they used. you can always tell when KITT is about to do a stunt because the front nose doesnt fit to goos and there is a huge gap where the hood meets the cover and the windshield is resessed back into the pillers. also also notice NO seatbelts in the car at all. the worst is the movie Blackdog. They killed that blue Iroc

 

actually its a pretty cool show, and youre lame for not watching it

 

Who just watched fast lane? Next week they are gonna kill this beautiful bananna yellow 85-90 Z28 or IROC they only showed it racing some other car and on its rooftop as it exploded I think it had t's too. AGGGHHH this is awful why cant they destroy hondas?

i wouldnt exactly say i watch the smurfs anymore..... my car is simply the color of a smurf. I would still watch cartoon network at any time rather than that mary station. btw gargamel is still cool:lala:

 

Granted that some of the shows on the WB are catered to girls kids,but there are adult/family shows on there to like Reba,Family Affair,Smallville,Angel,Buffy the Vampire Slayer,Thirdwatch,and Fastlane. Smallville is hardly girly or not like any of the wishy washy shows like Dawson's Creek,$hit like that.Smallville is about the furthest from being a sissy show as you can get,it's mostly an action drama.Watch it sometime,you might like the show.It beats that Knightrider any day which was error prone,comical,and had bad acting.

 

At least you're consistent in liking kids shows...I had forgotten just how ridiculous the scripts and how bad the acting on Knight Rider really was. Yeah, KITT is a TA (sort of)...but that barely excuses the lousy story. It makes the storyline of the "A Team" look like Shakespeare in comparison!

BTW Fastlane is blowing up a yellow IROC next week...and of course a nice black 3rd gen Camaro got destroyed in the movie National Security. At least they're not destroying Firebirds!

 

I work in the film/television industry in Vancouver on a show called Stargate and I know a lot of the crew on Smallville, they are by no means a big budget series...the 3rd gens you saw destroyed were very likely POS cars that may have been dressed up to look good.
I worked on a small feature film years ago where we had to have a semi flatten a new Porsche 911 convertible, we bought a rusted out older 912, put on replica wheels, photo copied a newer dash board, gave it a quickie paint job and it looked very convincing on film.

LT1Guy, I am the graphics co-ordinator, I work with one foot in the art dept. and the other in construction. My job is to design/fabricate/prototype most on camera graphics, everything from the plexiglass starmaps in the control room to various badges, military insignia, weapons control systems etc, its every ten year old kid's dream job.

 

What about kip while he was in the TA when it was getting crushed. I know I would have pissed my pants no matter how much I knew it would be safe. What I wouldnt give to see hondas and mazdas being crushed and blown to tiny undistinguishable pieces
