Aluminum distributer cover idea
I've been working on polishing my distributer cover for a whiile now and had an idea pop into my head. I solid modeled a new style of distributer cover last night and I would like to get some opinions of what you all think of it.

You use autocad? It would be easy to put that on a cnc to cut out the bowtie with a 3/8 ballnose endmill, and using a 1/8 endmill for the IROC part. Looks good and unique

Drawn on mechanical desktop 5, thinking of finding 3-d plotter and having corn-startch master made and taking it to a local aluminum foundry. was thinking of the endmill idea but I had to cut the fins short to get a space for the bow-tie

Without the yellow paint I think I'd like it. It's close enough to stock not to be terribly tacky.
I think I'd probably opt for just the bowtie, if anything at all though. I definately see a potential for you to make some cash if you can produce them affordably enough. Between the f-body and Y-body owners, I'm sure you could sell plenty.

I may be spitting into the wind here but, why not just take an aluminum one, and bring it to a jewler or engraving shop and have it done? How much could the charge you?
