Headlight Covers?!

Ok i just went to Summit today to pick up a set of headlight covers for my Z. Well i gott what i needed and came home to put them on. Well i gott the Auto Ventshade ones. Are they supposed to like not fit right on purpose. The seem big and go over the headlight pocket onto the outside of the car. I had a set before these (that were broke and came wit the car) and well they fit right into the pocket. So what i was wonderin, are all AVS covers like this or did i gett the wrong one?

not sure

I used to have headlight covers, and they said 85-87 on the box, so maybe the pockets are a little different on other years?

I broke the ones that were on my car when i bought it. So I bought some AVS ones and i found the exact same thing as you..they fit over the pockets. Very poorly made product in my opinion, its like they didnt measure properly or something.... I just left my car without any blackouts in the front and now i like it better that way...

yep they fit over the head light pockets. They arnet the greatest quallity ones but there the only ones i can find any more since gts went out of buissness. I don't really like them but then again i know people who like the avs ones better than the gts ones.

I bought some from lund that were like that, They make them that way so when you are driving the wind wont catch it from underneith and blow it off. By making them that way, the wind will acually hold them on. They do look lame thought. I have a white car, and the covers come with a black rubber strip around the edge, so my headlights had a black line around them. I only had them for a week and then I got rid of them.

And GTS is out of buisiness and they are going to be ard to find, unless some shops still have them in stock on their shelves.

My GTS covers fit snug but didnt overlap. In other words they concealed the headlights totally. I got mine off ebay new for $35.
Auto ventshade has some good products but I wouldnt buy their head or taillight covers.

If you want to paint them, I would get the clear ones and paint them from the backside so that they dont chip.

I had a set on my car from GTS and a damn bird took the one out right after GTS went under,no more warrenty so that pissed me off. I then got a set from wade and the one dont seem to fit right. My car is now going to go without them.

I like blackouts cause you can take them off or put them on and give your car a different look at will. Same with a car bra. One day you can have it on, the next you can take it off..

I purchased some GTS rear blackouts now I just need the fronts.
Hey are the GTS front blackouts different? cause I see them with different part#'s all the time but they still say for 82-92 camaro's but with different part#.....which one do I get for an IROC?

thanks guys.

Im looking at some and the part number is diffferent than the ones that you had...the part number is GT0109S.....It says for 85-87 camaro, I wonder what the difference could be? The headlight pockets were the same were'nt they?

What was the part number of those? Why do you say not to drive at night, the lights wont shine thru?

Wishmaster, in answer to your question. Don't drive with these at night because even with my brights on you still can't see !@#$.
The part number is GT0101S. I bought them from autoaccessories4less on ebay. This is a current auction right now for the same ones I have. Current price is $9.99 with no reserve. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2404463060

OK, I got my headlight covers and what I think is that once they are installed there is no way to remove them to drive at night.

For those of you with the same as what I have, how in the heck are out guys taking them off. The kind of brackets that come with the covers will not allow you to take them off I dont think or am I just not seeing something here? Unless I yank the tape loose..

I havent installed them yet.
