anyone interested in LED third brake lights?
i just completed my conversion to for my third brake light (spoiler variety). i want to guage how many people would want the same. (either spoiler or window mount variety)
i'm using the brightest leds i can find which is about as bright as a stock bulb or brighter as far as options:
u would get 5 LEDS installed or more being your option
would come either ready to screw in with lense (depending on how many assemblys i could get) or on circuit board with LED mounted wired ready to either tap stock wires or plugin like factory(factory is an iffy option becuase or gm's wiring mishaps).
every one of them checked before leaving.
you get lifetime service just pay shipping back. sound good cuase i i could do the for
15 bucks plus shipping
(in screw in form no housing in other words you provide lense and case)

I would be interested. I hope to be getting a 5" iroc spoiler soon and want to put leds in instead of the stock lights.<---They suck.

i should have pics by wed
the only price variables i would have are
1 clear or yellow led's (yellow are cheaper and bout the same intensity as the clear.) but for me the price of the clear is more than double that of the yellow so yelloow is standard unless requested but is clear is wanted i can do the for between 3-5 more.
the only other additional cost is the number of leds
80 cent ea for yellow 160 each for white.
the only problem you would have using yellow would be if you had a clear lense in which case i can substitute the brightest red i can find which really unless used with a clear lens is only half the brightness of your stock lamps.
the pictures will be of my car with the red leds's as a reference seeing as thats what i used for prototype. they are not what i recommend.
oh yeah my led dash will be done by harry91RS so if you guys ask him really nicely he might get in on this
my car is a 90' so he might only be willing to d0 90-92

why clear or yellow LEDs? All of the OEM LED brake lights use red LEDs, even though they're behind a red lense. They are the most affordable and are still plenty bright. I pulled the LED bar out of a mitsubishi Eclipse 3rd brake light and I bought a spare stock spoiler, but never got around to finishing it.
Ideally, what I'd really like is to built a full-length LED bar like the caddys use on the trunk.

I know that I really want leds in my new spoiler. I want the lens to be red, because I am tinting my taillights red and a clear one just wouldn't look right. If I had you put a few more leds in one how much extra would it cost? I am still very interested though.
I don't think that I would want one that went all the way across like a caddy. I really don't like that. Just my opinion though.

in order to use the red LED more efficiently i would have to place them right next to the lense in stead of the light shing from the center of the housing as it is now.i've been considering moing the LED closer for more bbrightness but i haven't figured out how.
i have been trying to stay away from cutting the original housing or lense. what i may do is epoxy the lense to a mounting tube then mount that to the circuit board

Game for the LEDs
I'm up for the LED "kit". I've checked into replacing the bulbs that are blown and last I've checked they are around $7 a pop. You'd be a fool to pass up the LEDs. Anybody hear anything different let me know.

jimbo i woulds do that except that the original bulb holder for my spoiler was so deteriorated that there was no hope for repair just replacement so while doing mine i decided to ask if anyone was interested.

for 91-92 firebird and camaros u can just switch the bulb to the LED bulbs and just remove the red lense. remember 91-92's have the third brake light mounted into the back window.
