Really, I am needing to know where the ignition could cross the headlight assembly.

Looking for a speedo driven (that's right.. the driven gear is the only P/N I can't find on GM PartsDirect.com) gear for a T-5. Needs to have 19 teeth, and be the 85+ style with the nylon gear on the metal shaft...

Still waiting on that part number. I don't think the guys at the dealer will mind cross-referencing an older number. I really don't like having my speedo read over 70 MPH when I know I'm only barely doing 60...
The worst part about this is that I've seen tons of the older one-piece cable speedo driven gears on eBay, all in new GM packaging, so I know that the gears SHOULD still be available, it's just that the numbers aren't in the right places.

Further investigation looks like it doesn't really matter. No differentiation is shown. they listed one additional note saying the gear w/sleeve, shaft and seal is part#14090580.

I was not able to find any reference in my book.
I know for a fact that the 5 speed and at gears are different. I did a 700r4 to t5 swap a few years ago and the are definately different. I know I posted on the topic back then just have to find it.

Ok, let me ask a different question: for a standard 3.42 rearend, which of the drive gears would I use with the white gear? IIRC, I have the white gear, but I can pull the VSS and verify. I have no problem going out and getting a DRIVE gear, just the other one...

BTW, there is no way in he11 that you can use a 700R4 gear in the T-5. The gear is just about a half inch too big around to fit in the dang hole in the tail housing.

The question still remains:
If I have the right driven gear, then why does my speedo still register at 70 when I KNOW I'm doing 60? Could I have the wrong drive gear? Or is it the cheapo VSS I bought?
BTW, everything was working correctly before I swapped in the T-5...
