Chic Magnet. Black 91 Firebird.
I was just wondering. I just picked up my new/ old thirgen car. Before it I had a 88 sport coupe camaro. Now I have a 1991 Firebird, with GTA rims and a formula hood with the calf buldge. I dont know if formula's came with those black rims, and I thought trans ams had the hood with the grids in the front.
Anyway it looks sweet and I was cruisin around for the first decent day last weekend with the T-Tops off and the stereo up, and so many chicks kept starrin, and lookin at my car. I even got there #'s. It was so sweet. I love my car now. I didn't know they would like a 91 GTA/formula/trans am or whatever it is is such a chik mag. I guess it must be the brand new black paint and ghost flames. U think I should get the 02 ram air hood? I think it will cost to much to paint black, and match the flames. I'm thinkin around $1000 but it looks so sweet right.

damn, the RA 2 hood looks so sweet with a 91-92 nose...especally in black. with those black rims, t-tops and ghost flames, i dont see why chicks wouldnt like it. i noticed if you "modernise" a 3rd gen that girls tend to like them more. BTW you could get a decent price for that formula hood, theyre scarce nowadays and a lot of people are looking for them.

That car looks badass with that hood! But the rims definitely gotta go.
I've picked up a few chix with the car, but it's my own damn fault for making them think the car's their personal limo.
Nowadays the only one that gets enjoyment from it is its owner.

I'd say put that 1000 into the motor then some more money into the motor, then when it can perform the way it looks with a RA2 hood, then get the hood

Nice car though, please get us some good pics
And about the hood....buy the ram air hood and keep your old one. Parts for these cars are getting harder and harder to come by and one day you'll wish you had it.

Am I the only one out there who really doesn't like the 4th gen hoods on 3rd gen cars? In fact... I don't even think I like them on 4th gens....

I dont care for the look of the ram air hood
I personally think it looks out of place. I think the stock GTA/TA hoods with the fender vents and front nose vents looks more at home.
then again just my opinion

i agree, love them on the 98+ ta....everything else i'd have to say a huge no.
however, the earlier style whatever it may be called that isn't so noticeable looks sharp i think.

Camaro68Vette63, where in NJ do you live? anyway.. im also not a big fan of 4th gen hoods on thirdgens.. they belong on LS1 TA's.. thats the only cars that look good with them.. but thats me...the only 4th gen hook i like is the SS hood, but i wish they made them a little more smoother like on the newer SS camaros..
I dont think that hood looks good on a 91-92 nose at all. The lines are all off.
Too blunt for such a pointy car.
Also, with a black car, I would keep the vent style hood. The nostrils on a RA hood dont show up that much. youre better off getting a cowl.

I like the SS hood better than the Ram Air hood but If I had a grand and my car looked good already, I would put the money in in the motor. But remember it's your call. Slowbird1991, try to read the posts better next time. Bummer it had to be your first post. i won't count it against ya

it was an option for the formula 350, t-tops were part of it also.
