Anyone ever have this happen?

Tonight I was just cruising around in my 92 RS with my girlfriend and we decided to stop at Best Buy. As soon as I park and we get out some guy in his mid 40's just randomly starts complementing me on how nice my car is and how he used to have a 73 nova. He was a cool guy and we started to talk about muscle cars and he ended up giving me his business card, lol. Well anyways, this is about the 10th time in the last year that ive had this happen. Anyone ever have a similar experience?

all the time i can't go to the gas station without stopping to talk for 15 minutes!

all my neighbours though... they think i'm nuts because i clean my car everyday.

one chick that lives by me always says "when you're done with your car come over to mine and do it too". i say "fack you".

Yep. Have had people offer to buy my car, tell me it's the nicest they've seen, complimented it. People talked to me at work, gas stations, drive-thrus, and many people actually know me by my car, yet I've never met them. Doesn't bother me, glad they like it as much as I do.

I have that happen quite a bit too. The question I get the most of is "What year is that?" and then their response is "Wow...it looks a lot newer than an 88!" And then of course you have the normal teenage droolers who are like "Niiiiice Car... what is it?" LoL

Only when I drive my 74 Vette. Its like a magnet. What year? How fast will it go? I use to have one. How much did it cost? want to sell it? But you know I kind of like the questions and the attention it gets.

Since I got my car painted last year I have gotten that every time I take it out. I hate the people that feel the need to put their fingerprints on it You know the kind that just have to touch it to see how smooth the wax job is... Then I always get people that want to know what color it is so they can paint their car that color and I say sorry...it's one of a kind

Hey....no prob here......i like having the only one..hehe. I cant wait though till the car shows start up again around here....alot of people are going to be shocked when they see all the work im putting into her.

Yeah, it happens all the time..LOL
Last spring while still living in the US, there was a guy that always came over when he saw me outside, begging for me to sell the car. He offered me $10K on the spot, but I had already decided to bring the car over here to Norway, where I can get more than twice that when/if I decide to let it go.

The fact that Camaros are fairly rare over here, let alone a ragtop, also is reason for a lot of people turning heads and commenting on it here as well...

Its all fun though!

I've been offered $8k on the spot before, too. It got up to $10k before I could convince the guy I'd never sell it no matter how much he offered.

Well, I don't have that problem, but it does seem I have to carry a crowbar with me for very odd resins... I go in a store I come out "and it happens someone's out there humping my Camaro again!!! (sad!)...
i guess that's the price you pay for driving something hot!

I've gotten looks and "nice car" from guys and chicks. I was at a parts store one time and when I came out there was a guy there standing in front of my car (hood was open). He started asking the typical question, what year? what motor? etc. We were talking and then brings me over to see his 89 350 Z which was somewhat modded at the time. We talked for like 15 minutes then tells me to follow him to his house (about 5 minutes from mine) to give me some catalogs for high performance parts. This was before I had done anything to my car so I didn't really know much about modding. I still have the Summit mags here and he also ended up giving me his # so I can call him if I ever felt I wanted to beef up my car a bit. However my cell phone ended up getting lost so I have no way of contacting him. I know the area where he lives though so hopefully I'll see his Camaro outside one of these days.

I always get waves from the chicks, and an occasional "nice car!" from people. I've had people ask me what kind/how many subs I have in my car and when I tell them 1 they freak!

I cant wait for my stripes, it'll look like a poor man's viper! heh

I love that! I don't think anybody ever came up to me when I was driving my beater 87 deville that I never washed, and said "Awesome car man"!!! Nope. Never happened. But I do get asked a lot of questions about it and get some compliments. The weather here has been great lately, so today, I washed her up and put a nice coat of Zymol on. That stuff rocks! I was cruising with the windows down and a couple girls in a grand am pulled up next to me, and they were waving and saying they liked my car. Wish I had an 88 GTA when I was single! Matt

i've only had it since dec. but my neighbors have been talking to me about it and one of my neighbors had an 89 brand new when he was in h.s. but he then crashed it so he likes seeing my car it reminds him of his old one. my other neighbor is old and she tought it was a brand new car lol i almost died laughing inside (she's sweet and all but i wish i had a brand new bird!).
my friend Toni who has a ***** loves my car even though i make fun of his car every time i get! lol
but i dont mind people talking to me about my car, i enjoy it...but i have noticed people looking at my car as i drive by them

People really started to notice my car when I got the 355 and the loud exhaust. I always cruise up to the Taco Bell by my house (that's where all the ricers hang out), and their jaws drop from the mere sound of my car......they race each other for money all the time, but they've yet to ask me to race.....

I used to get a lot of "Nice Camaro" compliments.
I guess if you saw it with these wheels, you'd think it was a camaro too.

Oh, and those are 2 different sets of wheels.

I know you didn't ask for opinions but I gotta say those wheels and fake IROC decals are sick. No offense just not my cup of tea so to speak.

here's mine, alright one day i was going into town when i seen my buddy so i pulled into the gas station right on my right and started talking to him, when all of the sudden this grand-am pulls up and some looked like mid 30 year old dude jumps out and starts asking me if this is my car. of course being nice i said yes and asked him why. he told me that he used to own in awhile ago and traded it in for a different car because his girlfriend/wife what ever told him that she didn't like the car so he traded it in. we talked about what he used to do with the car, racing, he redid my rims, called it "trigger" what the hell kind of name is that!? and then he offered me 5,500 to buy it back from me i told him i got it for 3,200 and he only offered me that much for it. need less to say i never sold and will never sell i love me 3rd gen!

Mine isn't even real pretty and i still get compliments and nods. The greatest thing i have noticed, especially since the weather has gotten better, is that if a chick sees a camaro (especially the 3rd gens, the love em for some reason) and a guy driven, about 8 out of 10 times they will make an effort to get up along side and check you out. Bit of a ego boost. Gotta love these cars.

lol, I think it's just the angle and lighting... maybe it's got pearl or something in it that would make it look that way.
