What wheels should I get?
I just sold my 91 z28 wheels and am looking for some new
17" wheels for my car. I have narrowed it down to the ROH ZS
or the Centerline Matrix (5-spoke version). I am just curious what
wheels you guys think would look best on my car.
When I do the body and paint next year I will be keeping the
basic color scheme the same, but possibly with a darker silver.

I am finding out if I can get the ZS fully polished but I don't
think you can anymore.
I could only find a picture of the matrix in the six spoke version,
and it does come fully polished as seen in the picture.
Silver ROH ZS

I just called Groupawheels and they are not offering the ROH ZS
with the Argent center anymore.
The cost for the standard silver ROH wheels is about $900 for the
set. It would cost $100 a wheel to get them fully polished.
The Matrix wheels are $1050 for the set.

Yeah, screw the ROH wheels, too many people have them just like the TT2s IMO. Nice wheels but toooo common now. Get the Matrix wheels in the 5 spoke version..very bad ***! What size? 17x what? let us know, good luck on your decision.

I am going to run 17x8 with 255-50-17 on the front and 17x9.5
with 285-40-17 in the rear. I am going to go with the matrix
wheels, because as you have said too many people have the
ZS wheels. Also, I like the fact that they come fully polished.
Thanks for the responses and I am ordering them today.

I still have yet to understand the whole "that wheel is too common" thing. You guys do know that the majority of 3rd gen owners don't buy custom wheels, right? And the majority of 3rd gen owners aren't on this site (and will never hear of it). And to continue the point...out of all the cars you see on the road - how many are 3rd gens? and how many of them have different wheels?
VERY FEW OF THEM.
So who cares what the guys/gals on this site are running wheel wise? If it looks good and you like it = go for it. You most likely will never in your life see another thirdgen whatever with your style wheel in person.

Nicely said LT1guy. In person i see the ROH wheels more on 4th gens and the TT2s are actually on everything but thirdgens around here! I have not been to an event in over two years b/c the last one i was at ended early due to the lack of interest, so i do not even know what would be there if i went.

They're nice wheels, and look good, but they're getting too common. My point was that you can run a nice wheel and be original, too.

I see your point and I counter. I'd rather see a nice thirdgen with Torque Thrust 2 rims anyday than what I normally see......rusted-out, hick-defiled, barely running thirdgens with Stock rims.
Do what you want. Put new wheels on your cars. Just make sure to keep the car clean - you'll put a smile on somebody's face
....and keep the look of disgust off mine

I love my GTA wheels too, but some people want a larger rim and GTAs aren't available in a larger size, at least not in the states. If 17" GTA wheels become available as a direct bolt on with the correct offset, I would take them in a heart beat.

OMG!!! I think I am going to save up for some different rims now
Take a look at some of these designs.

Never mind, the company is overseas, but I think there are some cool styles though.

Now that I think about it. I have never seen the ROH ZS, or TT2s in person. On the Internet those wheels are real common, but in real life, I have yet to see another thirdgen with them on. Most of the thirdgens I see have stock rims, or even stock 4thgen rims.
Even I have stock rims.

Thanks for all of the responses. I decided to go with the matrix
wheels (5-spoke) and ordered them the other day. They will take
a few weeks to get, but I will post some pictures as soon as
they arrive. I also ordered a McGard lugnut set with some locking
lugs to install them with. I looked into the ROH ZS wheels and
made some calls to some suppliers. The argent center ones are
now discontinued, and it costs an extra $100 per wheel to have
them fully polished. I think this was the final selling point for me
on the matrix wheels, because I want a fully polished wheel.
If the ROH wheels wouldn't have cost $300 more polished than
the matrix wheels I may have bought them. That $300 can
pay for my spohn adj. lower control arms and panhard rod when
I lower the car with pro-kit springs at the end of May.
I found this picture of the Matrix wheels (5-spoke) on a second
generation trans-am.
