mixing up 16" iroc rims

I bought 6 Iroc 16s last fall, 3front and 3rear
I put 2 drag radials on my rear tires so I am left with 2 more rims
1 front 1 rear, I would like to buy another set of tall highway tires to put on for driving to the track and back (400km)
what is the difference between the front and rear rims? just the widths? Is it safe to run the same tire on each rim, if I end up with two different tire diameters, that will spell doom for my diff....

Whatever your trying to do is not a good idea. Why do you think the wheels are marked (front) & (rear)????

you could do it i believe, the offsets are just different between the front and rear rims, if you put the front rims on the rear they'll stick out a little a bit, and i run teh same tires on all 4 rims so that shouldn't be a problem

you can use the "front" wheels all the way around. they will stick out a little more when installed on the rear. not too noticeable though.

Yea I noticed what it was right after I posted. The offset is about 1" off on the rear. I think that would look goofy, the widths are the same though. Oh well, I will have to see if someone has a rear one to sell or trade me.

the difference between front and rear wheels is only the offset. fronts have 55mm less, so they stick out more. they will fit fine in the rear but rear wheels will not fit on the front.

Only one problem: He has (ONE FRONT) & (ONE REAR) which is sort of hard to do with one each.

he could still use them, one side will just stick out a little but the diameter will be the same. the point of my first post was to just clarify differences in the wheels.

Maybe it's so you can't rotate the tires and will have to buy at least, one new pair more often.. ..

Oh, I'm so very sorry for joking and thinking you might have a sense of humor 'Mr. Allknowing of things engineered by the slapnuts at GM'. My apologies.
Please... enlighten me on the true reason for pointless offsets the GM gawds bestowed upon thy sacred vehicles since you are so vasty wise about this. I seek education from your infinate knowledge and wisdom to this subject matter.

Jer... it's not going to hurt a damm thing to run a front and rear tire on the rear of the car. It will just look wierd.
