New pics of the 82 LT1 Trans Am
Here are some pics I snapped off yesterday while we were driving to pick up a battery to alternator cable.

And this is Julian with a huge grin on his face. I guess he's happy that the LT1 swap was a success.

Any difficulty setting up the speedometer? How does it interface with the trans???
Also... I like that steering wheel a LOT! Any info on what one it is?

Speedo was easy to calibrate. One wire from the VSS to the speedo. Mark off approx 2 miles on a stretch of road. Start up the calibration, drive 2 miles, stop, press button and it's set.
The 4L60E VSS puts out 4000 pulses per mile, so we had 7980 pulses in 2 miles. You see the pulses in the odometer of the Speedo. Checked the Speed with LT1 Edit's free scanner and it was dead on.
That wheel is a Grant leather wrapped one, about $100 or so.
Julian knows the exact part number and model of it.
He's actually supposed to be here now, we have to change the crank seal again to stop the oil leak.

It's really not that hard. Just takes a little bit of time, a hammer, some blood, puller, a ratchet, and a box end wrench.

Ohhhhhhhh, so it's the front damper seal then??? I thought you meant the rear main seal... That isn't to bad then. I'd say a 2-3 beer job at most.

We bought this sleeve that is supposed to give a nice new and smooth surface for the seal to slide on. Hopefully this works, cuz it's a pain to put it together just to take it back apart again.

Well, I'd like to stay and chit chat, but I am heading to the garage to do a little work on my car and take some pics of parts for a few people.
See you all later on tonight.

Now let's see a pic of the speedo in triple digits.
What happened? the LT1 in my 95 Z28 got 25 mpg.

Nothing has happened to the gas mileage.. The fuel sender and gauge are new.. hard to say what the mileage is yet.. I am doing a few interstate miles today so will check then.. my best guess right now is about 18-20mpg for the city..
