pics of wheel spacers?

i just bought some iroc wheels for my camaro with a drum/drum rear. im pretty sure i need wheel spacers for the back. can anyone explain to me either: what the wheel spacers look like, post a pic of them for me, and/ or give me the dimensions of them. i wokr in a machine shop so if they arent that complicated i can make them quickly and save myself the $20. if they are complicated or if i have to modify my rear i will just buy them.

The .187 thick spacers are not really necessary with the IROC wheels.

Check the pic in my signature, or on my site. Drums with no spacers and look fine.

how do they work? it seems like you bolt them on over your existing studs on the car, i assume with lugnuts, and then bolt the wheels onto the studs on the spacers?
-N-, what kind of discount places do you mean? like autoparts stores? or junk yards?

Wrong spacers for use with stock IROC wheels on any 3rd gen car.

Any wheel shop should have those thin spacers. I think they were used to keep the two metals (the Aluminum of the rim and the steel of the drum) from chemically reacting over time.

Try Napa, Advance Auto, or Autozone as well, if you have those in your area.

A little info: The .187 thick steel spacers were originial installed by GM on iron drum brake cars after the switch from aluminum drums ( they were thicker) to maintain spacing when the 16" IROC wheels were installed. Not for the reason stated above. My 87 IROC-Z had the spacers with the Iron drums. Since this spacer is so thin, it makes no noticable difference if they are used now or not with the varying tire sizes. I sold mine for $20 when I changed over to rear disc brakes.....

Installed a complete 1989 BW 9-bolt rear with PBR caliper rear discs. Best rear discs on a 3rd gen car. So no use for the brake drum spacers,

i thought the spacers would be about 1/2 inch because thats what i measured as the difference between the front and rear back spacing. can anyone clear this up for me???????? and let me know where i can get the CORRECT wheels spacers?

ok... here we go, because the spacer for the rims was so small, you don't need the spacer to put the IROC wheels on your car. I had 85-87 IROC wheels on my 89 RS with 245/50/16's and had no spacer and it looked and operated just fine. So don't worry about the spacer and just put the rims on.

As far as the thicker spacers, those are for a 4th gen or positive offset wheel. YOu can buy a 4th gen rear with disk brakes for anywhere between 250 and 400 bucks. I got mine from Speed Automotive for 250 plus shipping with 3.23 gears.

Has nothing to do with the existing backspacing on the wheels.

"can anyone clear this up for me???????? and let me know where i can get the CORRECT wheels spacers?"
Why? You don't need them.
