Need some help deciding between 3 rims..
Well, as some of you already know, I broke my rear formula rim into pieces after some heavy donut'ing in some cramped road cross. So i need at least a new one, but the 3 of those I already got isn't exsactly new lookin', and the cost of a used one sent from the US + some polishing of all four, mount up to almost the same as 4 new ones.
The thing is I actually like the -87 Formula/TA design on those wheels, although i guess I like the 88-up ones a little better. Still I cant make up my mind if I like the originals best, or the Torq Thrust II's your probably well familiar with, or the ASA RS2 wheel I also could get at the same price.
Here is the ASA RS2 wheel, sadly not with 5 spokes, but still nice IMO. What do you think? Anyone know how to photoshop this onto a -87 black formula?
I'll using the 16 inch tires since they are brand new, so all of the rims in question would be 16x8. IMO the TT II's don't look all too good in 16x8, but 17x9 is a killer.

The question is if the ASA's are better than the TT II's or vice versa. Or...perhaps go for the originals and NOS Super Powershot instead! Hmm...hard choices...been thinking about this for almost 2 weeks now, cant seem to make up my mind. Need a little help here I think, or else the car would never be drivable again..

Well USA-1, You have showed me those pictures before, and I have to say that I like the look. The problem is that I am really undecisive about most things nowadays, but it leans towards those ones. But now I have got another problem. My caliper's look like ****, and I dont even have disk's on the rear! When I bought the car I was convinced that certanly a Formula with 16 inch wheels and suspension package would have disk's at the rear, but no such luck.
Another thing is it seems I am really reluctant when it comes to spend money in a big way. I hesitaded several weeks before i bought my car, even though I new it was a good buy.
But anyhow, how do you like those 6 spoked ones? My dealer actually only had those two rims to choose for my car..

I like the 6's just remember ... 6 spokes mean 4 more spokes to clean! It's already a pain in the keester to wax 5 per rim. Those are pretty nice, though. Always liked that set back "deep dish" look. Can't go wrong with a chrome rim on a black car.
Didn't mean to beat you to death with the pic. I was just responding to Willwood's "but they would still probably look good in 16x8".
Don't worry too much about the calipers, etc. You'll drive yourself nuts if you try to do it all at once. A little at a time.

Here's a picture of my broken rim, taken tonight!
Oddly enough, it still holds the air, and i drove it carefully home after that incident. Swapped parkingspaces today also..
It's a little out of balance, but not much. When i drove on the highway at 70 km/t it was barely noticable. Kinda wierd!

Tilstad-
That is pretty weird that didn't go flat.
The 88 formula TA would look pretty good, but the 6's aren't bad either.
Am curious, did you hit something or was it just the force that caused it to break?
For heaven's sake- be careful, man!

No, your getting it all wrong. I smashed sideways into a curbside (only in the middle of the road, dunno' what you call it) after som donut'ing in a cross section. Then BAM, and i went all " Oh NO!"
But actually I didn't stop the car, I just drove it a little out of sight first, and then looked at the damage. Not a dent in the car, but the wheel all gone. Since it apparantly did'nt leak anything, I thought it would be better than the mini spare tire, so THEN I just drove it carefulle home, at approx 70 km/t, but slower on the smallroads.. Just a tad of vibration, nothing much, and that's what is most wierd im my opinion..

Here's another picture;
I guess I couldn't have damaged it much more before the tire fell off..

They make them in 17 aswell. Actually these rims are some "Suv-line" ones, so they got them even bigger; 8x16, 8x17, 20x8,5 20x9,5 22x10, and the largest of them all, 24x10.
Wanne have a go with them 24x10 ones? ;-)
I think they tend to look a little more modern, while TT II's are more old style, in 16x8 anyway. But the dealer had to order them himself, so I couldn't have a look at either of them before I decided.
They didn't mention enything about any spacers, If he were considering that, then probably more types of rims of what he had would "fit", right? But I didn't ask either, so i won't guarantee it in any way..
I uess the only thing wrong with the ASA' ones is that it has 6 and not 5 spokes. If it had 5 it wouldn't have been any question in my mind, then I would have chosen them at once.

Yes, I know the centerline's would be good, but they don't sell it here at a fair price. So they are opt'ed out.
The downside to the photoshopping thing is really that I didn't think they would be any cool, but now I'm unsure again..
Earlier today I was pleased by the fact that I now knew which I wanted, and could go order them TT II's tomorrow. But now I have gotten uncertain again..
Which one should I pick...?
What do you think USA-1?
