Why The Keys?
I would like to vent a frustration I have. that frustration is keying.
For those of you unclear about what I am talking about “keying” is the act of running your keys, or other abrasive object over the surface of someone’s car in order to damage or destroy the paint. It is in my opinion, the lowest form of vandalism.
Many of the members of this forum have well-painted cars. (Not me, at least not yet) every day, someone sees your car and thinks, “Wow, I wish I had a nice car like that.” It’s natural. I feel that twinge of jealousy when I see a real nice car. But some people are just too jealous. They feel the need to destroy that witch they cannot have.
This kind of thing happens every day in grocery store parking lots across the country. And it makes me sick. It also makes me afraid. I know this guy, got his car painted, spent over a grand on new paint, within a month he had been keyed. I later had my own car painted; you think I spent that kind of money? I got a 300$ junk paint job. I was too afraid that if I got a good one it would be vandalized. I should not need to live in fear. Why do people have such disrespect for what does not belong to them?
I tell you one thing, as bad as my paint looks, if I ever caught someone doing this to my car, I would teach them some respect. They would need surgery to get their keys back.
…:::: also, I apologize for being off topic, but there is no “general discussion” portion on this forum. Although I am new here, I feel there ought to be, maybe I am wrong:::…

In regards to keying I agree with everyone about it. That's something I worry about now and will be a lot worse when I get my car painted and completely finished
