So, now that FlyinLow has completed the Projector Headlight conversion - we're ready for the next step, right?

The question then is - who will be the first to do the Full Size Chevy Truck Halo headlight conversion

These are available with normal "mirror" type housing, as well as carbon fibre and gunmetal gray.
Here shown in Gunmetal gray:

It looks kinda...uhm....funky to me, so I am NOT doing it on my IROC nor my Tahoe.

Just thought I'd bring it out there as Im sure it will at some point anyway..

My dad has a 1994 Chevy Silverado, and I measured his headlights the other day.

Personally I don't think they're wide enough and tall enough to look good on our cars. It would have alot of "empty space" around them.

I'm gonna swap in Celebrity lights or Monte LS lights instead.

The lights themselves are an interesting concept, but I can't picture those oval halos looking good?

I found them while searching for a set of projector lights for my Tahoe, and this is the site I found them on:
http://www.matrixracing-usa.com/brow...partment_ID=47

Price: $209.95

And here are the other two versions of those lights:

Carbon Fiber:

Regular Clear:

What size did you come up with?

I'm looking to use them in the KITT nose on the 82. Those lights in the gun metal grey might look tight! Hmmm!

$209.00 a set. Whoa! I can do that though! Matrix Racing, ok I will remember that!

I think im the only one whose not in to all the funky lights. I like the Monte / Caprice / regular Pickup light swaps, just beacuse i think the cars look great with the one piece light in the bucket.... But the entire rage of creating lights that are circles in squares, or halos, or cat eye styles, or whatever...

I dunno, it never looked right to me.

Agreed; now I think it would also be agreed that it's no crime to go fast and look good doing it. Besides, "Why be stock" encompasses many things spanning beyond cosmetics (ie. performance upgrades).

For some reason the numbers 4" tall and 11" wide stick in my head.

My dads Silverado is a few towns away right now, so I can't measure them at this moment

Cool! Thanks! Our 1990 Chevy truck has the headlight blackouts on it, so I can't measure it. They wrap around the side markers too! I had them fly off a few times, so I got some rubber edging from GTStylings and glued it on and then put them on the truck. Well now they are permenant! You can't even pull them off w/o breaking them!
I like them well enough though. I like how they meet the graphite grill and form black bands across the whole grill. Then the chrome just frames it. This truck has by far my favorite grill for the Trucks of this body style. Though with these graphite lights I could upgrade w/o the sacrafice of poor lighting I have now! I'm sure someone make the turn signal lights in the graphite as well, then the side markers I could got clear or smoked! Hmm! That is if I can get the darn light covers off!

Okay,

I went out and measured the stock lights on my Tahoe - and they are 12 7/8" x 3 3/4".

Snapped a picture of the car/lights while I was out there too
BTW, the blacked-out Sport grille is my favorite on the full size Chevys - so I jumped right on it when I found this '95 2d Tahoe Sport 4x4 last year!! It's getting a light-upgrade soon to all clears and a grille insert.
Anyways, sorry for hi-jacking my thread

personally, i think that you are more of a butthole by saying bad things to people who have an open opinon than those of us who enjoy the way a stock camaro looks. i have been racking my brain trying to fit "mighty mouse" under my flat hood cause i think it looks better. unfortunatly, i cannot.

The Halo around non circular lights looks weird. Even though I have a bird, I am intrigued by the fixed headlights. I would like some more lightening at night, especially since I don't have an extra set of driving lights.

I like the Silverado swap.

This post was created to give those of us who arent afraid to try something a bit different another idea, Ken had a great idea in it, and now we'll see who ends up being the first to do it, i'd like to but i've got a few more suspension / go fast goodies to get first, so if someone else beats me to it, so be it, this isnt an opinion post, nobody asked for opinions, it was a TECH post on the possibility of getting them to fit and the possible modifications required, if you want an opinion post please go start your own.

Ok, well let me add a little tech here.....

They can fit but as seen from mine, some people complained they didn't fill up the whole space....

I decided to remedy the problem by using weatherstripping around the headlights...

You will need to custom make the brackets, which can be done rather easily, you can screw them into black plastic piece that's behind the headlights...

Although i have no figured out a way to adjust the headlights with moving the brackets....

Oh come on, you can't post on a forum like this and not expect some opinions. Someone saying these lights look better than stock is posting an opinion. If someone wants to try it then more power to them, but a little negative criticism isn't the end of the world and may even be beneficial. Lighten up.

By the way, that was one hell of a run-on sentence there.

Wow I so have to do something other then those blackouts. I was moving Joe's 85TA (engineless) this weekend with the dually. We were out in the boonies and I could not see for crap! Those black outs are really just too dark!

Procar parts has some angel eyes 88-98 lights too!

http://www.procarparts.com/store/dis...EUCL-AEXX-HL21

Just in the clear chrome... no carbon fiber or gunmetal...

they are only $149.95 though!

I was trying to find some gunmetal or smoked parking lamps to match the gunmetal angle eyes for the 90 Dually and am not having any luck. I found diamond clear parking lights

and side markers.
.
But nothing in gunmetal or smoked. If anyone finds any let me know! I guess worse comes to worse i could use a light coat of night shade. I just hate to spend the $ and then spray them...

Chevy ken...thanks for the dimensions!

But will those fit a real Camaro? In the picture they are installed on one of those fake Camaro front ends for Monte Carlos.

Ive done the celebrity light swap and i like it better than the chevy pickup swap due to the more spance being filled and less gaps. Check picks out at http://www.fbody.com/members/gclarke

I had it done in a few hours.

Celebrity swap? Maybe you didn't notice, but this is a TRUCK headlight swap thread.

JK

I've noticed in the last few weeks that these boards have been a LOT more civil!!! Nobody has been flaming, and I think were all getting along pretty good.

That's my OPINION.

I don't think a "stock looks better" comment really requires moderation. Quit trying to stir up trouble.

See, now I had to post off topic. D a m n.

You are right, well here are mine installed.....

The hood doesn't come down all the way like a stock hood, so that's why it looks like there is a big gap there......

Flynlow:

I like the look of the headlights, but I wish there was some sort of bezel that you could put over it to make it look like 2 seperate healights.

Have any of you found individual lights with that look that Flynlow has?

Just in a common two piece setup, the only other one in two pieces has a rectangular halo. I thought about using the projector from a mid 90's 300ZX and one 'euro' 4x6 but never had much luck getting a pair of projectors.

didn't mean to be such a butthole ealier in the psot. i go back and read them now and i looked like a complete idiot.
