Got My Windows Tinted
I had my windows tinted yesterday. Limo on the back hatch, one piece...and slightly less dark on the side, I don't know the actual percentage. What do you guys think?

looks great. i'd say it improves the look of a black car almost 2 fold. i just got it done to my car too.
That looks great. How much did it run you? I wanted to have the old tint removed from my car and have new tint put on. They told me that it would cost around $400.00 since there would be so much work involved with removing the tint from my hatch. I've got the rear defroster. They also told me that I would have to sign a waiver in case they messed up my defroster, where they wouldn't be held responsible. Needless to say, I've put that on hold for now.

It cost me $50 in Mexico =) I watched the whole process and it wasn't any different than the tint places I've seen here in the states. Its guaranteed too for the first two months...if something happens I can take it back and they'll re-do it. $400 is waaay too much....that is ridiculous. Some people might say that the tint might not last long because I got it done in Mexico or whatever...but hey $50 you can't beat that and I know it will last a decent amount of time...and if something does happen after 2 months $50 isn't a lot of money to lose. My friend has always had his cars tinted in Mexico and they've always lasted. He use to have an Accord and they tinted 5 windows for the same $50 and his tint still looked good 4 years later when he sold the car. So I'm not worried about it. I think they did a good job.

Looks sweet! hope you can see a night though. I had limo (5%) on my sides and could hardly see at night. Id roll my windows down at stop signs to make sure no one was coming before I pulled out. that tint started looking ragged and I went with 20% on my next tint job.

I don't really have problems seeing out the side windows. I think it looks darker than it really is because I also have a dark interior. The sides aren't limo tint.

It looks alot better....Hope its not the kind that will turn purple after a few years.....I hate purple tint
I'd like to get my side windows and hatch tinted, but I am afraid that the tint will eventually start to peel off like I see on so many cars. How can I avoid this? What is a good place to get a tint job, like a stereo place? Thanks. -89IRO

Its the same kind that my friend put in his Accord that he had for a good four years and it never turned purple on him
I like the look of tinted windows, but I dont like tint too dark on the sides, I think it looks a lil out of place if its too dark. THe back hatch I say do whatever though it always looks good. I'm thinking about getting my car maybe blue than fading into black. I think the car would look good like that with it being maui blue already.
89IRO - Look in the yellow pages and call around. After reading tons of info on tint, I have concluded that 3M makes the best quality tint.
I paid $160 for my 3 windows...3M tint...lifetime warranty. This isn't a bad price at all considering the guy that did mine has done over 300 f-body's
$50 aint bad if they did a good job, but what kind of tint did they use? Other cheap brands of tint tend to fade and/or turn purple over time.
For others that are getting tint done: Call around and get pricing and ask what kind of tint they use and what kind of warranty it has. I highly recommend getting it done at a place that uses 3M tint and warranties it for life. You won't regret it. And remember, you get what you pay for.

I'm not sure what tint exactly they used on mine. I'm just referencing what my friend has had done before which is the same they put on mine. I've mentioned how the tint on his accord lasted until he sold it and his mom has also had her tint done there as well and she's had it there a few years and it still looks black and not purple. I can't say that its 3M but its not necessarily cheap either.
