you should stay away from waxing for 3 months and if you want to wash your car just try to be as gentile as you can and use something very soft. if you can, just run water over the car to get whatever was on the car off.

What kind of paint did he use. If he used a single stage urethane then wait the three mo. If he used BASE COAT Clear Coat then you are fine to wax at any time. I just finished painting my brothers car and after the 24 hour curing time I wet sanded , cut and buffed. Then used a good wax. Everything turned out fine.

you can wash your car now just make sure you use a really weak solution and that everything is very clean ie.. the washmit and whatever you use to dry it off.

It's one of those times when it's perfect to buy all new cleaning supplies if needed like a mit, soft drying cloth, etc.

My PPG tech sheets for the clear urathane say that it is washable in 48 hours when mixed with the correct temp. reducer. I washed my brothers after the cut and buff process. PLEASE do not use dish washing detg.

I was thinking the same thing, don't want to have dirt and grit scratching up the new paint.

Yes with single stage urethane it takes a little time for the solvents to come completely out. That is what gives you your shine. However I am in no way knocking Single stage urethane it is awesome paint.

I used single stage on my last paint job. And for a cost of less that $100 for all the materials, it came out pretty good. Smooth and pretty tough. The pic is bad since my scanner died, but you get the idea. This was the day after, before I finished all my touch up and detailing and putting the lower nose piece on.
