New Nose on Firebird

Take a look at this firebird with a different style nose on it. I kind of like the looks of it but I am not going that direction with my car. Here is a link to it. The guy is selling it on ebay.

Wow. What workmanship! Gotta love that hillbilly chrome engine (hoses and everything). Leaving the blue under the hood was a nice touch, as was the straight and level exhaust tips. Stylin'

I'm sure others would like the opportunity to comment on the paint and body specifics so I will refrain.

It's not that bad guys....except for the wing...that is just plain ugly. But the paint is quality and the bumper looks good on the car. The guy must do body work for a living...only way you can justify that kind of work and ignore the engine and the interior so much.

i don't think its that bad either... not something i would ever do, but its better than leaving it sitting in a back yard for years to come (read the description). I'm impressed that they got that nose to fit/work with the car. The only conflict for me is the fact that the front fascia is so round, and the rest is so not. If there was a more agressive-style rear bumper that rounded out the back, it would seem more complete.

oh and the wing. the wing has to go too

Wing, engine bay, tips and tires are crap. Other than that I kind of like it. I dont think it screams r!ce but it is more than a whisper. I like it from this angle

Did you read what the guy wrote? I think a waste of a car would be letting it sit in a field somewhere and rot/rust away.

This way it can at least be changed back to normal in her future.

I dont like it one bit, especially the silver spraypaint on the engine itself. But it is nice to see someone bring a thirdgen back to life, no matter how ugly.

It is very unfinished, obviously, but I guarntee whoever buys it must like that sort of thing and will probably put some effort into cleaning up the things he just skipped over or molested (like the silver paint on engine and hoses). He's got that terrible looking orange upper window stripe that someone hear was thinking of doing in red, just look at that and you'll see what people were saying about looking tacky. I can actually appreciate the work done into the nose and paint job (I can't really decide if I like it or not it's definatly unique), however it seems like his craftsmanship stopped there with no attention to get the lines to flow to the rear end. The big wing, just ugly, I hate the large wings on 3rd Gens. So in the end maybe someone will finish the job and have a one of a kind unique (I.E. not for everyone especially the "don't molest our sacred 3rd gen fanatics") vehicle. Which is alot better than one more rotting TA in a field.

Well, I gotta give him an A for effort on the exterior. That wing looks nasty though. Oh and that spray painted engine?? What the **** is up with that?? It definitely is an interesting nose, and the paint job ain't that bad either.......ugh but that engine!!!! Exuse me while I go vomit.

That's what you call original. I personally wouldn't do it to my bird but, I think it looks pretty sweet!(with an exception of certain things).IMO, I think it deserves some credit.

Personally speaking, I was always into imports and body kits and still am. I like the idea of making the car more aggressive and cool looking, but I don't think it looks so hot.

Looks like something I would have thought of 4 years ago when I didn't know anybetter. Its definately customized and different, but not the customized and different that I like nowadays.

Custom work with fiberglass.

if he does that kind of work to the exterior, what was he thinking with the engine? "hmm I have a spray can here, lets see what I can do"

Don't mind the wheels though. I love small 5 spokes.

The nose is actually from an mr2 body kit that the guy modified the front bumper to fit the trans am. I actually email the guy from ebay asking about the nose and that is what he told me. Hope this helps anyone wondering where the nose came from.

i think it would have better if he did not touch it and left it in the junk yard to rust away then to be turned in to something like that.

That is an MR2 Invader/Combat style nose...a design riped off from the VeilSide C-1 Body kit for the MR2..Veilside is the same company that made the body kit for the RX7 in F&F. Looks intresting...looks like he put some serious effort into making it fit, but he should of done a rear end to match. I don't think it quite fits our cars though; its a bit extreme for my taste, although I do tend to like the VeilSide kits like ones made for Supras. Here is the kit on an MR2

and here is a similar kit on a 240SX..which to me seems like it has closer dimensions to a Firebird

This next picture is intresting becauses I like how it makes the flip up lights stationary...I wonder if it can be done on a firebird the same way it has been done with this front piece on a Nissan 240SX once again.

disgusting. i do have to say that i appreciate the effort and craftsmanship that went into it, but if i saw that car in real life i'm sure i'd stop whatever i was doing and wonder why the hell anyone would do something like that. thats just my opinion, and everyone has their own tastes......

I absolutely love that nose. Does anyone know exactly how hard that would be to modify to fit a Trans Am? I would definitely be willing to put the effort into doing that. I like the car's paint job as well.

Since I'm pretty certain that is a one off I doubt anyone on here will know how to make it. You may want to e-mail the guy. The nose for the MR2 Invader kit on its own is only $299 at this site here . MIght take some cutting of the nose some fiberglass fabbing and making mounting holes. It seems the lines match up somewhat so it may not necessarily be hard but tedious.

I'm sorry but that isn't BLING at all. It has not one bit of decent chrome on it. Bling is more used for the big SUV's with 22" spinning rims and metal flaked paint or something. Doesn't apply here at all.

I'm with you on this one. I really like the nose. you just kinda gotta look at it for a while with an open mind. It would suck having it stick out so far, like our noses arnt long enough already.

But i cant believe the spray chrome. how could he even expect that to look good.

I think that car is disgusting, I can't believe so many people in here like it... :: shudder :: and I'm one of the more open-minded non-stock-****'s of TGO....

True I appreciate the craftsmanship on parts of the car...but....ugh... :: shudder ::

I do however think those front bumpers of the last two pics of those 240sxs would look cool since there are no curves in the front, and its aggressive, but not overdone. I even like the fixed headlights, makes me really think about doing something like that.

I love the fact that its a the "rare" 1986 302 motor????

It looks interesting the wing has to burn , the nose somewhat in a retarded way kinda works, only it was more molded into the fenders...

Oh yeah I do so love the Krylon engine
