Well at least you didn't wreck the whole side of it in the rain like me. I feel for ya man. keep the hope and make her better than ever. Who would have thought my 35,000 mile full bolt on baby would instantaneously become my first real project car

Hey Bubba, now we're matching buddies, hehe. I had a tanker trailer come into my lane and it did about the same damage only in two spots. Yours is definitely fixable....did you get out of the car holding your neck??

So are you going to go ahead and do the bumpers and ground effects while you're at it?

I believe NJ is the worst state to get into a accident in. Insurance is so messed up here, I feel for you dude. You may have remembered my post a while ago when I got hit with my old bird. Hope everything goes well

well i got the estimate today.....about 1233.00.....my painter says that he can pull it....im gonna talk to him more tonight about it.....hopefully with the 1200 i get from insurance, i can get the gfx painted too.......
another idea that rolled through my head.....my painter said to match good he would have to paint the pass side to about the door and paint the decklid......so i was thinking......hey, 91 gfx...maybe high rise??....so he was tellin me about a paint scheme of getting a different shade of pearl white and making it go from the rear and fading into the front.....what do u guys think of that....i cant really imagine it....anyone have any pics of something like that??

Hi Guys

What bit of S.T.O.P don't people understand?
For $995 you could always get this kit:

that kit isnt for a daily driver. i know someone who has it and they replace ur entire 1/4 panels, fenders, bumper and nose all friberglass. u dont want to get hit again with that. and plus after u get that done u MUST get sfc or eles ull crack the rocker panels (the fiber glass ones) becuz of the torque fromthe motor. i mean its a nice kit very nice but if its for a daily driver and ur in a heavy area where u know ull be hit its not worth it

mine was on my birthday, and i got a ticket, and almost lost my liscense over it, but the damage isn't too bad, but i think the whole front piece and fender will have to be replaced.

That sucks man I know its fixable, but like u said matching that pearl is gonna be real hard if not impossible. My car is a custom color also and i'd hate too imagine trying to match it.

On a side note, I almost got hit by a lady not paying attention at the gas station the other day. I'm rolling thru and she puts her car in drive, floors it! right towards my pass. side and locks the brakes up! Missed me by less than an inch! I got out, cussed her out, told her she had a deathwish and if she didn't learn how to drive she would be taking driving lessons in hell. I just went off bad. Forgot my meds that day i think

What you did wasnt bad. I'd done the same thing too. This reminds me of 1995 when my family was parked at the local texaco getting ice for our vacation trip from Altus, Ok to Dereks, AR. We were parked in the parking spaces and this one guy was getting gas. Well for some reason the dipwad decided that his 8 yes 8 year old soon should learn how to drive right then and their Well the kid turns on the little pickup truck and floors it into the back of our van 150ft from where he was and us. Crap that hurt bad casue I was getting out of our van when it got hit and it threw me into another car I hate stupid drivers, and stupid drivers who dont pay attention.

That turbo kit is plain awful, not to mention buy you have to get an extension on your driveshaft or wider rear tires for it to look right. Even then its still ulgy.

update.......talked to my painter
total cost of project....1600-1700
accident pay 1400

what will be going on.....
91 gfx
91 high rise

he said it will be hard to get an exact match for the front nose.....so he said he will get a different pearl white and fade it into the hood and the side......but the rest should be fine

for only a couple hundred more.....this accident almost seems like it is working out for the best..............hopefully if everything goes ok.....

Sorry about your misfortune..... Any -good- painter can match pearl, it is not as hard as many think. Good luck with it, hope it works out for the best.
