I was thinking of the Bart's wheels in the Summit Racing catalog. They are cheap, heavy duty, and weigh about the same as the stock 16" IROCs. I was thinking 15X10 in the rear with a 295-50-15 and 15X8 front with 265-50-15's. These wheels come in black or chrome. I was thinking black.... The IROCs were roundy-round racers so its not like the rims would be too out of place

Anyone got any pics or comments on this?

Please do it, I would love to see pics! You may want to consider 15 X 8s on all fours, with 265 50 15s. I've ran that setup and it was sweeeeeeeeet. Backspacing 4.5. but I'm not sure if bart wheels are available in 4.5. I just looked at those wheels yesterday on Summit's site, and was thinking, hmmmmmm. I think it's a good idea, and agree that it goes well with the cars' history.

I dunno about those bart wheels. They are cheap because... well, they're cheap. Putting cheap wheels on a car sure isn't going to class it up.

a polished lip looks alright because it breaks it up. if you want the "sleeper" look then i say go for it. just remember that you will not get 1/10 the amount of looks had you left a stock aluminum looking rim on the car.

all black wheels on a car looks cheap to me. darker colors like graphite and gray aren't quite as bad but they all make the car look as if your riding on a spare. but, it is your car and you should go with what you like best.

technically you can't say if one is better then the other because it's preference. i've had stock wheels, two different sets of tripple chrome wheels and now i have polished wheels. if you want to be noticed go with chrome or at least a nice polished wheel.

Go all black 18s, put the white lettering out, and slam the car. Instant Indy car! You got my vote.

N8MAN1068, that's a beautiful car, I'm definately going all black now. Did you get the wheels like that or did you paint them?

If it's not too much trouble could somebody phototshop a black 91 RS w/ N8MAN1068's wheels

Screw chrome

I agree 100% with Kandied Z.... black looks horrible on 99% of cars. You might as well get some cheapass knight rider hub caps... because that's what you are doing to your car. If you like that look... then good for you.

I am all about the polished aluminum wheels.

The black 15" Z28 and IROC wheels look pretty sweet

Chrome just doesn't work on these cars... well, 99% of the time it doesn't. Some cars, like this one, look good with chrome wheels (dunno who's car this is), but it doesn't work on alot of cars.

Hey Zepher and N8MAN1068

I really like the looks of those black 5 spoke rims and I am looking to get a set for my car. Can you tell me where you got the rims, what size they are and if you had to do anything special to make them fit on the car.

N8MAN1068
I actually like your wheels the best becuase they look completely black. That is the look that I am really going for. Please let me know about these wheels. I have been looking for a while for a nice set of black wheels.

Those are Corvette Grand Sport Wheels, 17x9.5 front and 17x11 rear. Those belong to a friend of mine and I was testing the fit on my car.
You need wheel spacers to run these. AFS sells replicas for about $1100 or so with tires.

You need to read three posts up. They're 2000 OEM C5 wheels, 17' front, 18' rears. He had them powder coated all black.

does my car fall into the 1% of the cars that black wheels look good on? I like my wheels but sometimes I wonder if my car would look better with a polished wheel. I think the only thing I got going for me with these wheels is that my car is silver. If my car was red or blue or even white, I dought I would like it as much as I do now with the silver and black. Im also thinking fo painting my car black

Can we all agree that if your gonna go with a black rim there needs to be some chrome in there to break up all the black?

Bottled does fall into the good category...

If you are going to run black wheels you need a silver/black car and you need a polished lip....

and yes even though chrome does rock, and i just said it a little while ago, i think some Grand Sport wheels would look cool on the Iroc if me and my dad decide to paint it sebring silver...that would look pretty cool...

Obviously it's preference, but beyond that I think it's proper balance. Chrome is show. Black or gunmetal is more go. That doesn't mean a car with chrome wheels is slow, and it doesn't mean black or GM wheels can't win a show.

I personally think Chrome is a way to spiff up a not so good looking car. I don't think the wheels should get any more or less attention than the rest of the car. Kandied mentioned chrome will get more attention. So will a train wreck. Bottom line is a clean car is a clean car regardless of your personal choice in wheels.

Kandied's chrome or polished wheels match his spotless and near perfect car. That doesn't mean a good condition daily driver can pull off the same wheel combo, ya know?

i dont necesarrily agree with the last statement. not trying to toot my own horn or anything, because i KNOW my car isn't show condition or what not, it's got a few spots on the trunk lid that are oxidizing and it still needs leather put back on the steering wheel and just some lil things need to be taken care of, but i think my wheel combo pulled it off. it's my daily driver and i get looks left and right, and my car isn't show condition....

BOTH!!! break up all that black a little bit.

ive got chrome wheels on my car and they look like junk (mainly the design). but i dont really like chrome (certain chrome wheels obviously look good), i like a polished look much better. but im changing the way i used to think and now im liking the black or gunmetal wheels with a polished lip.

im dying for a set of 5 spoke black wheels with a 2" polished dish. 18x9 & 18x10

i dont necesarrily agree with the last statement.
I'm not saying that a daily driver CAN'T pull off chrome. Every car, and every wheel combo is different.

I'm just saying that if you look at Kandied's car back when he had the chrome Z28 wheels, you got the entire package. The WHOLE car was clean. It ALL stood out as above average. I think too many people have average cars with above average wheels, and in turn it ruins the whole package. Look at classic hot-rods. TONS of chrome. Tons of custom paint, tons of custom upholstery. It all works together.

Look at my car. It appears 99% factory from the outside. That's what I prefer. Now if I put on a set of (Boze?) wheels like kandied had, IMHO, my car would look worse. It just wouldn't flow right. Obviously his wheels are more of an attention getter, but like so many things, it's the sum of all the parts, not the individual part. At car shows, the single most heard compliment that i get is that I left my factory Iroc wheels on the car. I think SO many people in our hobby lose sight the the finish line and sell out and buy the quick attention getters like new wheels and tires.

...but that's not directed at anyone, just a general statement. BlueZee28, I happen to love your car. A buddy of mine has a red 92 vert with chrome SS/Zr1's and I LOVE it!

A buddy of mine has a red 92 vert with chrome SS/Zr1's and I LOVE it!

well thank you i happen to love iroc wheels. which is why when my iroc is finished i'm probably going to keep the stock wheels for winter and buy NEW irocs for it, but 16's instead of 15's lol

Blue Zee28, if you have intentions on putting black grand sport wheels on your car, then DON'T. Your car looks perfect with the blue and chrome. Black wheels wont flow right with the color of your car. if you wanna see what your car will look like with grand sport wheels then wrap electrical tape around your wheels and step back.

Aren't actual Corvette GSs.........BLUE????????

....but even though I think they'd look good, I'd keep the chromies on your car.
