wide tires + no gfx = always dirty car?
Hello all,
I have an 84 bird with 245/50/16 tires and no gfx. Here in Florida it's been raining almost every day now (hence the name Sunshine State!)
I noticed that my tires kick up all kinds of mud, dirt, water spots, etc all over my car. I mean all over like even up to the windows and on the rear spoiler. I just had my car painted and would like to keep it looking decent. Does anyone else have this problem (esp. formulas w/o gfx and with wide tires) and if so what have you done to fix it? Mudflaps maybe? Any and all input is appreciated!!!

It may be just an F-Body thing because I have 215/65/R15 and mine do the same thing. But mud flaps might work, but I think they are ugly.

Hey guys (and gal),
I have the same problem y'all are talking about. I'm running P235/55/R16s on my '91 RS and after a rain my baby looks like a rally car! There's no getting around the mud, dirt, or whatever splattering up all over the sides of the car. The only solution I can think of is mudflaps, and I'm not about to slap those things on!
Camaro Gal is right, it just gives you a reason to wash your ride more often.

Well if you wanna talk about big tires i have 275s in the back with mudflaps and yea still tons of mud, even in the front i have 195s and i still kicks up a lot with mudflaps. Its just another thing to add to the "what dont you like about your 3rd gen list"

yea well i'm running the stock 14*7 tire size and i kicked all sorts of crap up and the crap they spray on the roads here turns everything brown i'd have that crap all over the windows. I went to suss pontiac and got a set of the splash gaurds that say firebird on the back of em and slapped those on better in rain and winter plus the dirt doesnt rip the crap outta my new paint
