Oil/Tar On Car Help

Well, it appears they are getting ready to re-pave my road. Which really aggravates me b/c we're finally getting my car looking decent (body damage fixed) and now its fixing to get TAR on it. Does anyone have any tips for taking tar off a car w/o damaging the paint???

I usually just use mineral spirits. Put in in a spray bottle or put it on a rag and wipe the tar off. Usually works better when you spray it on and let it loosen up the tar. Remember this also takes offthe wax so you will have to wax it afterwards

go buy the cheapest version of WD-40 you can find and use it. Just pre-wash the area and then spray the WD-40 on. Watch as the tar magically melts away and it becomes much much easier to scrub off. Use enough of the WD-40 and the tar comes off by itself.

Hope this helps.

This is the best for tar, bugs, or rubber from the track that you can't get off the rear 1/4... another vote for Bug & Tar Remover

This is going to sound nuts but .... that plastic polish that everyone recommends on the tail lights works awesome!!!! I used it on the wife's car and it took the tar right off while it polished. Good stuff!!!!!
