Anyone have silver widespoke C5 wheels on their 3rdgens?
I picked up a set I was thinking of using on my '94, but now I'm considering them on my '86. I'm thinking of painting it gunmetal grey, with black iroc stripes, t-tops and headlight doors, and maybe blacking out the wheels and borla tips as well(professionally) even though there is nothing wrong with the finish on the wheels at all. These are the painted widespoke C5's with the front/17" rear/18" arrangment. I thought about painting it bright red and leaving the wheels alone. It's been lowered. I need some ideas! thanks!

FYI those wheels are called Zr-1s try a search for that, alot of people have swapped them onto thirdgens. SLP sells the OEMs through their website. You will need to use billet adapters for the wheels as the offset for fourthgens was different. Andris Skulte sells them on his website, I forget the address but he is a sponsor of this site. HTH.

yeah!
Yup, those are exactly what I'm talking about...I'm not a chrome guy, and was looking for what the painted ones looked like on a thirdgen Camaro, since as I said, I'm thinking of going with a gunmetal grey body and blacking out the rest, including the headlight doors, t-tops, stripes, rearview mirrors maybe, exhaust tips maybe, and wheels maybe. This is why I wanted to know so I can get a better idea of what to do...
Thanks for the image!

Still haven't found it... maybe I'm typing it in the wrong way or something. Only thing I found were the chrome ones, and I dont like those...hard for me to get an idea what silver ones would look like with a picture of chrome wheels, too.

i'd like to see a set in black chrome....i think it would look sharp. the gray is a little plain for me but thats just my opinion.
the flat 5's are known as the c5's. the skinny 5's are commonly reffered to as millenium edition since that's when they were introduced and we all know there is no mistaking the z06's.
they are all nice wheels if you don't mind using adapters. i don't particularly care of the stagered sizes on thirdgens since the body isn't built for it though.

My fav shot.

talk to Andris about the wheel adapters. They will run you about $300, but are stable as can be.

See, mow that looks good...if it were me, I'd toss on some hood louvers and iroc taillights, but it's doesn't look bad either way. I was going to paint my car black like it was originally; but since black shows alot more imperfections and I seem to keep finding myself in black cars, I wanted to change and go with something different. I would probably go with red and silver stripes, or black and silver stripes. Those pics look good though! If I do go gunmetal, I'll probably powdercoat the wheels and possibly the taillights black.
