Paint job like this on a 3gen?

This car was at a show i was at and i thought the paint job was unbelievable there's also a kid at my school with a green on top/silver on bottom mustang where the two colors kind of flame to meet does anyone have this i was thinking it would look good with a dark blue iroc with silver on the bottom but not sure its definately different. Here's the design i'm talking about

I'm thinking about doing something like that on my '86 TA. All of my horizontal surfaces are peeling (like many 80's cars), but the verticle panels are perfect. I thought about maybe a dark gunmetal gray metalic on top, then the stock silver on bottom perhaps... I change my mind several times a day though at this point, but this is one of my top ideas for sure.

Does anyone have anything similar on a 3rd gen? I've looked through member's pages, but didn't really find anything when searching for "custom paint".

I think you should go for it if it's gonna be a show car. I personally think it looks pretty cool.

I think you are referring to a two tone tribal paintjob. The tribal part of that has to do with how the two colors meet, instead of just having the colors meet, you have a design in the middle that blends the colors. There are literally hundreds of variations of the tribal design, from slashes to flames, and even more complex than that.

Here is an example of a nice tribal paintjob:
