23 new pics before winter storage

On the 20th, I finally had a day where I wasn't busy so I gave the IROC one last washing and waxing before I put it away for the winter and probably summer and next winter. I snapped a few pics, some came out pretty cool. Here is my favorite one. The rest can be seen on Page 6 of my Cardomain page or on Page 9 of my website . What do ya guys think?

Is that the original carpet (it's very clean looking)? and is your pass side exhaust tip flat on the bottom ?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

As far as I know, the carpet is original. The guy who owned it before me has every receipt for things he did, so I know he didn't replace the carpet. But someone may have before that, which would make it at least 6 years old.

As for the exhaust tip, I backed into one of those cement parking stopper things at school last year and it scraped my one exhaust tip, so now its flat on the bottom I'll replace it someday.

Its going in storage mainly because I can't afford to drive it. I just started school, and its about 30 miles away. The IROC was using almost a half a tank of gas per day driving there. It also needs tires and the winter is coming up. So I could either spend $600 on tires, a ton of money on gas, and put miles on my car and have to drive it all winter, or buy my $1000 Cavalier with great tires and save money on gas and save my car from the winter. The problem is, I attend school for 15 months straight through, which means I still have to go during the summer. So I want to keep driving the Cavalier to school and I can't afford to insure both cars at the same time, so the IROC will probably sit next summer and winter as well .

Hopefully I'll be able to save some money up and buy parts for it though. I would like to upgrade the suspension, repaint the nose, POR-15 the underbody, get a 3.27 or 3.42 posi rear, possibly a cam and head swap, and either finish polishing my rims and get new tires, or buy new rims and tires. But, we'll see

uhh lets see...
30miles.. tank holds roughly 13 useable gallons
half a tank is 6.5
30/6.5= 4.61 so you are getting four and a half mpg!?!?

why dont you fix your car so that you get decient mpg, and drive the damn car? you said so yourself that you would probly spend money on it... spend it on the tires and make it run right and you can drive your car.

When I said 30 miles, I meant 30 miles each way, which would be more like 10-12 MPG. I know thats not what it should be, I still need to tune it better, but I'd rather not have to drive it 30 miles on the highway in a stow storm or something and pile it up.

I'm going to Universal Technical Institute for Automotive and Diesel Technology.

The wax is Turtle Wax Hard Shell.. I had a bottle sitting around I thought I'd try.

Not something I'd use again though

Steve-
My car just may be in the garage for longer than yours has been, but at any time I can get it out of the garage without pushing it
