New pics with the slicks

Test fitted my Weld Prostar rims with M&H roadmaster DOT slicks yesturday. The rims are 15x10's with 5.5backspacing, tires are 26x10x15. i have plenty of clearence around the inner fenderwell and the bumpstops. i took a few shots, im goin to get better ones but some reason my camera was a dork and they came out fuzzy. also im goin to end up gettin a full set of Weld Prostars just for the street.

also dont comment on the white strip on the slicks, i got the slicks for $50 and decided to have fun with them, when i get new slicks i probably wont put that on there.

the white strip is to see if you are spinning.
I am not trying to be a d*ck, but whith the 305 moter in your sig. then you don't really need 10 wide cheater slicks. Somtimes to much traction will slow you down if your motor doesn't have enough grunt to it. Example: A friend of mine has a stock 96 Z 28. He ran a best of 14.35, he runs alot of 14.5-14.7. When he put on some street slicks it hurt him. He ran slower than before, Like 14.8-15.2 as an average.

But I do LIKE the rims alot. I am thinking of getting a set for my car.

Yeah i know what the white strip is for, i needed good/great tires for the track becuz all im doin is spinning even with heating up my tires i have now. im pullin 2.5-2.3 (best) 60' times and that is killing me and i know these will help right now.

and the only problem i have on top end is my heads and cam suck, down low off the line i got a nice amount of power out of a 305, my big problem is traction.

also most of those 4th gens had 2.73 gears and when ur friend put them on they killed him off the line. this kid i watched at the track last had some named brand slicks on his formula 305 and they hurt him becuz he had 2.73 gears and when he put the radials back on he ran a 15.5 compared to a 16.0 with the slicks. it has to deal with the gearing also.

LOOKS GREAT.....

Nice wheels....

Ive always wanted to put 15x10's on my car but wondered about the clearance.

If you can get the chance.....can you please be more specific about the clearances in inches on the inner fender and bump stops.

I have a hard launching 1989 firebird that uses 28x10 slicks on 15x8's with a stock 9 bolt rear and Im planning to buy a set of weld aluma stars in 15x10... Im just worried about clearances in the wheel well when the back end squats and my front lifts....

Did you actually calculate what height tire would benefit your combination the most or did you just take a wild guess? The reason people run slower with slicks isn't lack of power. It's because the don't have the right tire/gear combo. Do your research. If you're spinning, you need a different tire. Granted with a 305 and only 3.42's, a set or drag radials will prolly be fine but you need something better that Futura Ultra-Z's.

Well the tires i have on the car are Futura Super sport GLS tires, which are crap on the track. i was told calculated that there about 26/27'' tall tire but i might be wrong, i cant remeber exzactly the size i was told, also i have 3.23 gears in the car but ill probably be stepping up to 3.42's or 3.73 soon.

im just hoping that i can get some good traction and pull my 60' times down and hope to get into the low 15's if im lucky. when i get a new set of slicks ill be ordering the right size that ill need.

Also my brother with his 91 z28 350 basiclly stock with just BMR lower control arms and mostly stock suspention and Futura Ultra Z's he hooked with a 2.06 60' time and that was with a worn out posi. and he ran a 14.4
