Poll...Stay two tone or go all red?!
I'm hoping to get my car painted real soon. I haven't decided if I want to stay two tone or go with just red. I may be adding a 91-92 z28 spoiler. The car will also be dropped with some pro-lines eventually. I'm leaning towards all red myself. The two-tone makes it looks older...like a 85z28 or something I don't know.
If I could I'd change the color. it would be a PITA thought. I'd love to have a blue thirdgen.
Note:::I am in no way obligated to keeping this car original. That does not matter to me. Its already beyond ever being original again so don't let that hinder your choice.

I voted for blue, cause I like blue better than red. But if you keep it red, make it all red in my opinion.

Probably the same shape red. Id really like to do blue but I have to pull the motor...again...to spray the engine bay black and everything...would suck...

That's a tough one; it looks clean with the two-tone, however I've never seemed to like it altogether. If you went with a nice deep red and like a charcoal or dark-ish silver it could look pretty slick (of course I'm biased to the dark red, charcoal, silver thing
). It kinda depends on the look you want, basically it will look good either way. A solid color would seem plain at first but in the long run I think you'd have no regrets going solid.

Go 2-tone (not necessarily staying with red though) and avoid the cookie cutter paint scheme
I know if I were a better painter and certain base colors weren't so expensive ,my 'bird wouldn't be white right now.

i think red looks good, it makes our cars look nice. PERSONALLY i like our cars in black or dark blue just because it looks mean. Mine is silver it was like that when i got it and that colour is growing on me more and more every day because it makes the car look quiet and subdued but like its hiding something
. The other thing is for some reason the "red sports car" thing never really did anything for me. No idea why just never really found red to be all that appealing to me so my opinion is very biased.

I can't decide either. Tough choice. What sucks is red and silvers are some of the most expensive paints (original colors not custom stuff don't flame)
I don't think I'm gonna switch colors...to much extra work would need to be done. I may have to flip a coin about two-tone or all red thought. I just can't decide. I'm gonna start prepping the car this weekend. Hopefully it will be ready for paint soon.

Two-tone will date the car to the era it is from, a solid paint will make it blend in with newer cars.
Personal I am still torn I like the blue/silver GFX I have but all blue is cool too.
For you red and silver or all Red, I can't even gather an opinion for you just look at some of the members cars in all red and then at yours you will see which you like and go from there.

I was in the same exact boat as you.. my car was red with the silver GFX.
I decided to go all red and make it more modern looking. The car should be back from the bodyshop at the end of next week.

Well big change of plans. I think I'm just gonna sell the car. Who knows I may change my mind again but I'm pretty set on selling it at this point.

I'd go all red, although I don't dislike the two-tone.
Blue is OK too, but I wouldn't change colors unless I had the car pretty well torn down anyway.
Are you really sure you want to sell it? That car has lots of potential, but it's up to you...

I am probably getting a 4th gen TA or z28. However...I also thought about a 89-95 mustang. I haven't decided yet.
I don't know...I'll waste a bunch of money getting the car painted.....still needs so much. I have already dumped a ton of money in it and its no closer to being done that it ever has. I don't know. Just needs to much. I don't know...

i voted red and silver, hands down. i think the 16s with that look great, if they were 17s or 18s, then maybe the all red, just maybe.
thidgens are so much cooler than fourth gens, dont switch to the dark side
after driving my dad's fourth gen V6 car, id much rather have my thirdgen V6 car. their both slow, but the fourth gen car just feels too new, like all the other cars on the road. much rather stick to the older original styling haha.

Well I voted against the 4th gen car. Started pricing parts, to hard to work on ect. If I do sell my car I am switching to the real dark side...a mustang.
I don't think I'm selling the car now...I just bought a dual pillar guage pod and a b&m megashifter...70$ for both. Had to take it. I'll probably keep the car for another long while. I still might sell the rims. I really want some slp firehawks.

2 tone.
I know I've said it before, it makes your car look more "musclecar" and less "sportscar". ...Same with the 16's, and the hood. I stay away from the hi-rise spoiler too. Not that I don't like it, but it leans more to the sporty, less to the muscley.
There are so many cool choices and ya just can't do 'em all on one car. You seem to have that certain look going, whether you like it or not....I'd stick to it.

88Camaro350:- You said at the start of the thread that you'd "love to have a blue thirdgen". I'd advise you to save up for a decent paintjob and changing the colour to blue. If that's what you want, then go for it.
Whether red or blue, keep with the one colour, don't go two tone IMHO!

A long time after I posted this it actually got painted...and lowered. Here it is finally after much debate.

I have 600 in it. It was done by some guys my buddy knows. They did OK. Definetly not a pro-job but it was cheap. I didn't have the door jams or anything done. Just the hood and the outside of the car. It looks much better. But someday I plan on getting another paint job. Probably make the gfx grey when I can afford a GOOD paintjob.
