what color?

I've got two days to determine what color I want to paint my 89 rs convertible. It's red right now, but I would like to get rid of the cop magnet color. I park the car outside all the time, so something to hide dirt would be great. What color do you guys think ould look good on it? I was think a white, with som epearl in it. Oh yeah, black and greay interior. and, it's getting a 3" cowl hood before the paint. Thanks averyone, I look forward to your responses.

Well, anything thats dark will show dirt/dust more. I always thought that silver Camaros look pretty sweet. Yeah, that's my vote...a brilliant silver.

silver would be great but if it's a daily driver and parked out doors i give it less then 2 years before it starts to fade badly and that's if you pay good money for it....go cheap and before your first year is up you'll see it.

if money is an issue a color change shouldn't be considered. changing from a color as drastic as red to white will look funny if you don't do the jambs and engine bay. if your going to do it all then any color you like would be good otherwise i'd stick to something close to stock.

i love a white with gold pearl much like the common cadillac colors but it's also a dirty white......there are so many colors to pick from it's really all up to you but if i knew it was going to stay outside i'd go with a lighter color and no metallic so it will last longer.

good luck.

silver hides dirt very well. but kandied is right, if your gonna do a drastic change like that u want the jams atleast painted. or. before u take it to get it painted spray paint them and the under hood with silver spray paint if u dont have to money to pay to have it done

decisin made

thanks for the insights guys. I decided to leave it stock red. the engine compartment is what sealed the deal. this is my first dip into third gens. They are not quite as easy to change color as the second gens. I was hoping that I could at least rattle can the engine bay black, but there is just WAY too much red under there to do so. So it's back to factory red. I think I will like the stock red now that I've thought about it for a while. The current paint is sun bleached and has a heavy orange tint to it. That will go away with the new paint and I think I'll be happy. This is just my daily driver while I builld the 71 rs/ss 350. Every penny spent here is another penny not spent there. You know how that goes. thanks again and have a great day everyone!

red is the most attention getting color you could possibly pick. anyone of the other colors are great without a doubt but it's a proven scientific fact that red gets the most attention.

3 Red and 2 silver cars here. The silver will hide dirt and dust much better than the reds. My next one will be RED again.

well, silver is a nice color for a car but also very common. if you're looking for a little individuality, silver wouldnt be my decision. white is a no-go especially in the winter, it will pick up salt and slush stains easier; black grabs the dirt and shows it off. my pick would be a nice dark, possibly a navy blue. not too dark to show, not too light but not as common as silver. let us know what you end up choosin.

silver is a very sharp color on a thirdgen but in an aftermarket repaint it just isn't reasonable on a daily driver or car that isn't garage kept. the sun will eat it alive.

Red is a wonderful choice! It's the premier sports car color, and let's face it....it's bloody gorgeous.

Silver is awesome too, but it still has that slightly wussy "business man in an impala" feel to me.

Hmm....that does have some potential. It would be reminicent of a 1970s Chevy Van, complete with curtains around the windows.

Oh yes, I say go for brown.
