Nobody has made those new since leg warmers and jelly bracelets stopped being popular. Your best bet is to hunt around some local trailer parks until you find some. Bring a case of beer. I'm sure the owner will trade.

Either that or just offer to rotate the tires on his house for free.

What a coincidence, I'm getting ready to strip and sell 2 dead camaros (82 Z--88 IROC) While looking over the Z I noticed 2 metal plates in the headlight pockets. The guy said they were mounts for headlight louvers and he said he still had them. Guess I'll ask him where they are next time I see him.

I know you're just trying to elicit a few laughs, but is it really necessary to perpetuate the widely-held and quite tiresome notion that the third gen is the "sports car for the *******"?

The car, and all it's eighties/early nineties glory is naturally a part of the era it came from. Headlight louvers, albeit terribly dated, are decidedly a part of this.

These days it seems even the most ardent f-body fan pisses all over themselves when they hear the word "louver". To each his own, I guess.

Yeah, I don't think one bit that the Thirdgen is a "******* sports car"...in fact, not many people have them where I'm at, so, when I pull around, everyone goes w/ the "ooo's and ahhh's." It's safe to say that the new cars are getting so tired to look at, that when you see a ZO6 go by, it's just a, "eh, another Corvette"...I like "classic" cars, and soon, Thirdgens will be in that era, if not already. It's up to the owner how he/she wants to portray their vehicle. If it's w/ louvers, or stickers, so be it. It's still safe to say that it's all about how the OWNER wants their car. If everyone had the same views, what kind of bland/boring world would we be living in?

I didn't mean to go off on such a tangent. But I live in Tennessee where Camaros are common yet strangely reviled by most car lovers. Here we're constantly stuck with this "*******" stigmata, and it extends not only to the cars but whatever modifications we do to them.

I like headlight louvers, and though for sure they're not for every Camaro, I think they're a pretty interesting change of pace.

I'm not trying to perpetuate anything. Enough thirdgen owners do a good enough job of that without my help.

I was critizing the headlight louvers, NOT THE CAR! It's tacky crap like those louvers that give us the ******* image in the first place.

I'm not a fan of louvers, at all.....

They aren't produced anymore, good luck finding some used ones, most people have probably removed them by now for some headlight blackouts which seem to be more popular..........

I definitely see your point. And I am definitely oversensitive. No harm done!

Because I have to admit, though I have nothing against them, I would never put any sort of louvers on my car!

Its like the Mad Max theme
Actually, I think they're alright, not as nice looking as blackouts, but not bad.

Personally, I like 'em. That is the first time I have seen those louvers, and I really like it. I personally think it is better than black outs, but then again, in this town, everybody and their sister has black outs. I am more for original stuff, and that seems original to me.

No, really, the stripes are just fine as are louvers. As I said before I just don't understand why people react so violently to them.

A guy mentions headlight louvers, albeit an odd addition to a car, but an entire nation of thirdgeners spasm uncontrollably and spout "OMG LOLOLLLL HEDLIGHT LOOVERS ARE FER REDNEX!!!!11111"

Oh hell, what do I care anyway? I'll leave this one alone!

Excellent feedback; I too am guilty of such "spasms" when the truth is it's all opinion, and nobody's reply of "Why?!" answers the inquiry of "Where to find them".

I suppose either JC Whitney or good 'ol eBay would be your best bet.

we all read what we want to read yeah when a question is asked people including my self often take it into the context of giving our opinion. I really dont think the person who started this thread cares if we like em or not they just wanted to know where to get em.

oh come on guys, you don't have to cut the poor guy down.

he thinks they look cool, and asked where he could get them, and everyone jumps on his case.

personally i think headlight blackouts and louvers both look like ***, but i didn't tell this guy that " red necks are the only people who would put something so tacky on their cars."

automaticlly implying that if he likes them, he is a *******.

i mean, try to be a little more tactful. it stuff like this that keeps people from coming back to the boards.

I don't know,it was a pic I got off of the link to American Sport Car Design at the top of this page. The pic might be from the 80's so the wheels may be not in stock anymore.

funny i came across that pic other day myself n wondered about them i kinda like em because they are different but my dad said they look liek **** n he dont like em

lol but goes its yur car

i wondered about them myself n also if u look close that front chip spoiler is modded and not factory the z's and iroc n stuff kinda go down in the middle and not staright like across and that ones straight

i thought that was weird n wondered about it and even asked them on site about the headlight louvers

as for me im tyring et rear window louvers i thought theyd go w/ them maybe but dunno

and as for blackouts gotta stop n consider the age difference that was like 1st kinda headlight cover blackout around thoose louvers

then later someon folded louvers down and made solid cover

as for me il go w/ the clear headlight covers because they are gettin painted dont want black ones

but i think thoose louvers are ok

and u guys are alot nicer on here then the nethirdgen board lol they cut ya down n bust ya ***** n dont say nothin bout it u guys nice enough say shouldnt and give guy break n all

think thats a nice touch guys

lol i got that over askin about on classified if ppl had some rear window louvers n got put down n stuff alot worse then this guy about theese lol

so i kinda thought that was cool of yall
