How do u keep the rodents from getting in ur car

I just got a new car for my daily driver and bought a 200 dollar car cover for the camaro. Well i have to keep it outside and a stupid F**kin mouse ate a hole in my cover. Who sells those things that make a noise that keeps all the animals away or ne other suggestions. They got in the heater box also and the blower motor doesnt want to work right i alrdy cleaned it once. This really makes me mad and just makes me want to sell the car cause i dont even have newhere to keep it.On top of that 2 weeks ago my sister backed into my rear bumper and cracked the paint pretty bad

I have an Anti-rodent rock. I'm not sure how it works.. but theres this rock in my garage, and theres no rodents around.

I'll sell it to you if you want.

Unfortunately I had this problem...and my car is under a cover in a garage. The little critters started eating at my underhood insulation. I hope they didn't get to any of the wires. Unfortunately, I'll have to find out the hard way. TTT for ya...I need some answers too!

Eh thats gotta suck man. My dad used to have hornets that made a nest in his 60 impala vert's glove box. We almost had an incident like in tommy boy one time. Luckily the top was down!

like you said, one of those noise things should help. do you have your car by an outlet or are you going to have to run 50' of power cable? You might want to try getting that rat poison thats a powder and put a circle around your car.

Or you could just move

Ammonia keeps most critters and aminals away. Just spray some all the way arround your car.

Hey Shagme,

I see by your profile that you have one of those ultra rare 1899 Iroc's. Boy, I bet that you could get a lot of money for that one if you were to sell it (not).

You want to use Bounce dryer sheets. No joke, rodents hate the smell of bounce and will leave your car alone. I read about it to use it in your garage and sheds and stuff. It is proven to work. It has to be Bounce though. The first winter I stored my car mice had made nests all over my engine bay. The next winter the car was in the same exact spot and I had not one sigle mouse dropping or nest. To this day I store all cars with them. Plus you get a nice smell every time you get in your car. They have never failed me.

Yahoo! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm off to buy a pack now since I'll be seeing the Iroc tomorrow. Time to put bounce to the test.

i used bounce dryer sheets but the rat just chewed them up and made them a part of his nest, so they did not work for me. I'm thinking about trying one of those noise devices.

Wow, that is the first time I have ever heard of them not working. At least they used the sheets for their nest and not your fabric. I geuss it is now time to look into alternative solutions.

I read about the dryer sheets on another post and got a pack of them after finding about 500 acorns under my hood insulation, around my plenum, and in my backseat(have no idea how they got there) I put them in the car, outside, under, etc. Hope it works. I have enough problems with storing it in such a damp climate. Next time i check on the car, i'll let you know.

I keep my daily driver in the garage all year, and mice still get into it in the winter. I end up putting traps and DCon in the garage to keep them out of my air filter.

The worst was when I was driving to work one morning, something caught my eye on the passenger side floor. A mouse popped out from under the dash, looked up at me, and ran back up under.

I spent the next 30 minutes trying to drive while keep checking the floor and trying not to imagine that something was brushing against my ankles. Not a pleasant ride.

This is what I am afraid of. By the way, how do you know they aren't nibbling on any of your wires?

OK guys heres what i did im crossin my fingers that it works. I went to Lowes cause home depot didnt have the 1 i needed and bought a portable electronic pest repeller for 20 dollars. It says its for indoor and outdoor use 1500 sq ft indoor and 800 sq ft outdoor. It takes either a 9v battery or u can plug it in. So i stuck magnets to the back of it and stuck it on the side of the strut tower. Now like i said im crossin my fingers this works cause im getting really sick of cleaning the engine compartment all the time. On my new car they got up in the intake and clogged up the filter and got acorns all up in it thank *** none got past the filter. They also tore the hood insulation up on it not to mention that they **** all over the valve cover.

my friends a mechanic and one day he had some mid 90's family sedan in and the heater wasnt working right and it smelled funny. Turns out a rat crawled into the system somehow and died. He said cleaning it out was one of the worst tasks hed ever had to do.

i know how to keep cats off your car....usually the only way cats get onto camaros is by jumping on the headlight openings and then onto the hood...just simply throw a mouse trap on there and when the cat jumps up and lands on it i promise it wont come back

At my detail shop once this guy pulls up in a Ford Explorer and has a cat stuck in his engine upside down, cut in half. It was the most sick thing you ever want to see. And the smell was horrible. We tried to dislodge it but couldn't and sent him down the street to the muffler shop. It was pretty bad. gut and stuff all over this poor guys engine. He wanted us to remove the cat and detail his engine but we took a pass on that job.
