For those that are looking for Promos Look in Ebay under Camaro Promo Or Camaro Promos. Sorry for you Firebird lovers there were no Firebird promos made for the 3rd gen only Camaros.

I have somewhere along the lines of 50some promos. From Almost a complete set of Camaro promos, TO I think a complete set of Firebird promos along with some corvette & I am working on a complete set of Indy pace car promos. Along with the Brickyards.

There is not a third gen in the new Johnny lightning Firebird series b/c I own the 79 10th anniversary and on the back it list's the cars in the series and there is no Third Gen which makes me mad. Why do companies not make alot of third gen cars, when so many people own them?

Any way here is a Hot Wheel I picked up at a flea Market for $1.00

Sorry, the way that I worded that made it sound like it was in this series 1st run. There will be a 3rdgen in the Firebird series but which run it will be in was not mentioned. There is a guy that frequents the Hobbytalk forums,he works at PlayingMantis which runs Johnny Lightning,Hot Rod AL is his username.

I have seen guys mod out their promos to match the car.

But if I wanted to do something like that I would go out get a put together model & mod it to my likes.

The 85 Z28 I posted is painted with duplicolor bright blue metallic which is the same color as the car I modeled it after. Also the stripes are stick-on that you can buy at a hobby shop, the original model kit had different color stripes..

Any 3rd gen vert models are custom conversions made by the modeler.

Also there are no GM issued 3rd gen pace car models, they are all custom built by the modeler.

He most likely got it off of ebay. they run from about $12 to $25.

I just got a 83 put together model that I am going to try to do as a 82 pace car. If not I am just going out looking for the 82 pace car ones.

Have you guys seen the hot rodded cars like the flamed 57 chevy and the cuda's, mustangs and el-camino? I think they're 1/18 scale with the fat tires and all. Anyway, I was thinking of buying one of these and cutting up a 3rd gen die cast to create one. If any of you have ideas on that one.

I got it at a car memrobilia shop in the mall by my house called "Crazy About Cars" it cost $35.90. A little pricy but I have not seen it anywhere else and nor do I know anyone with it. I got it in 2002. :lala:

I have an 82 camaro that I'm rebuilding into the Hot Wheels caricature cars with the big tires and all (1/18 scale) It's quite a bit of work to get those fatties under the stock body. I'll post when I get it done.

I snagged a huge 1/8th scale 1982 Z28 model off of ebay a couple of years ago, still haven't gotten to it. Its molded in red but comes with all the necessary decals to do it up like the pace car (which, of course, I am going to do.) It was a pretty heavy auction, I think I ended up paying $70+.
