Go to E-bay and look under toys and hobbies, then plastic models, automobile and search for Trans Am or Firebird. Several companies made different kits: Revell, Monogram, MPC, Arii, and AMT/Ertl. I know there were kits of 82, 83, 85, 87, 89, 91 Firebirds, Trans Ams, GTA's and the 89 Turbo. There are also a couple different scales 1/24, 1/25, 1/16 and also a 1/8 scale of an 87 IROC. I have the 83 Firbird in 1/25 and 1/16 as well and an 87 GTA in 1/16 and the 92 Formula in 1/25.

http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/s...2&BasicSearch=

Hope this helps,
Robyn

eBay's really the best place to look, unless you have a local hobby store. Sometimes, you can find a third gen at a good hobby store or they might have a catalogue you could order from. However, I've acquired at least three good models off eBay.

I have bought a couple 92 Z models off ebay, thats the only place I could find em. You will not find any more of a selection then what ebay will have IMO.

Im glad I am not the only one who is so obsessed with my car I had to build a duplicate model of it! I even found the custom wheels to match! I even bought a second model just in case something happened to the first one! I think I need counseling !

Ebay,

Either look for Monogram camaro Iroc, or MPC camaro iroc...there are some ertl and revelle, but there harder to find. I have an MPC, just to busy to put it together, I think its an 86 or 87 iroc. I actually bought the kit from a guy in Austrailia.

haha i want to get a third gen model and see if i can find some way to give it a drop. HAHA i think thatd be sick....if you got these things sand blasted could you paint them with automotive paint?!? Thinking if i got one i have to get my front bumper cover painted soon itd take all of 3 secs for the guy to spray the model if i masked it all off and it could be the same colour as my car!

One of my models has the Formula 'power bulge' hood, not sure if the car's a formy or not, though... I should really check.

Still on the search for a diecast model of my trans. I finally found a buildable version of my car. But the Die-cast one would be better because ever since I was a child I suck at building models. Anyone know of any places where they got em? Thanx

Sorry that I didn't mention it earlier but there is of yet no 1/18th scale 3rdgen T?A-Firebird.It wasn't til last year that Sunstar came out with the '82 Z28,the only diecast 1/18th 3rdgen Camaro. Now there's been several hotwheels size firebirds most recently by Johnny Lightning with their new Firebird series and there is a 3rdgen firebird.

I don't think that you're going to find anything from matchbox or hotwheels, the last 3rdgen firebird by hotwheels was back in '97. As for MB they hadn't done one since '95 when they had the Premiere series out.,there were 2 dare cop car t/a's last year though. It wasn't a very good representation of the Firebird either.Your best bet is the 1st series of the Johnny Lightning Firebird series which is now on its' second run, which has no 3rdgens in this series. Ebay is the way to go.I've gotten quite a few cars that way. Good Luck!

I've made a page with my models/diecast cars:

http://home.comcast.net/~kerryismygirl89/models.htm

I also have a model of a '98 Firebird and some 1st and 2nd gen stuff too.

I build plastic model cars. I dont have many 3rd gen kits but here are the ones I have and some die cast ones I have. These kits arent the greatest of my collection, thats why they are dusty and dirty. I dont bother casing them cause they didnt come out how I liked. So sorry for the dirt on them.
These are 1/24th and 1/25th scale. We have here a 1987 GTA, 1984 T/A, KITT, 1991 Formula, 1991 Z28, 1983 Z28

Here are some unbuilt kits I have, Im currently working on these and they will hopefully turn out the way I want them to. Also in this pic are some old Iroc racing Iroc Z Promos that are very rare.

Next are some 1/64th scale Johnny lightning Die cast I have.

1982 Pace Car Z28, 1982 Black and Silver Z28, 1987 Red Iroc Z, 1989 Black Iroc Z

I just bought a 87 camaro promo and a mpc 86 Iroc that im ganna paint up exactly like my iroc and im even gonna make the stance the same. I got the promo for like 6bucks and the iroc model for like 10bucks. The promo models have way more detail then i thought they had.

When i was yonger i had 2 mid 80's t/a they were the same model. They where black and gold on the box built by monogram. They ended up geting tore apart and one was ruined cause i couldnt build it right i was just too young...probaby 11 or so.
