Okay... here's my plan for my car over this winter...

This is what I want it to look like. Forget the other thread. What do you guys think of this?

Appearance Mods:

-18 Inch Boyd Coddington Rodder 5 Rims.
-SS Hood.
-Either Trenz Billet Grille, or Stock 92 Z28 Grille with black lowering adjustment.
-Predator Rear Bumper (To Give Callway Look).
-5 Inch IROC Spoiler.

I need to make my car look more aggressive with the parts going in next week (yes, tons of SLP parts, still polishing the runners downstairs though..... ooooh what tedious work). And everyone knows I hate stock

Anyways, let me know. And I will take ANY criticisms.

I find it hard to believe you'll take "ANY criticisms"...after that last post I'm not gonna take you seriously for a while.

but I like your future plans (excpe for the 5 inch iroc spoiler - I like the 91-92 highrise). And I'd definitley go with the black lowering of the grille. I've only seen it once or twice....but it looked great.

Best of luck

I really don't like that black lowering of the grille, I would rather see a nice Trenz billet grille there instead........

The Z28 highrise also looks better

my.02 on your winter plans....

The rims, hood, bumper.......:hail:

I like the "california" no spoiler look. Not many of us like it, but it's unique.

The 5" looks good, but it's more old school muscle, you seem to be lookin' for the sleek Gmachine/exotic look.

The hi-rise is cool, so is the stock Iroc spoiler, but like you said, you don't like stock.

I like number 3 better but I am still not digging the grill idea! I say go w/ the stock bowtie grill or the billet grill! Just my 2cents

The only things you want to do that I don't like is the mods to the grill and to the bumper. I think the others are pretty cool, which are mods 1, 2, and 5 that you listed.

I think the SS hood and the rims look sweet. I would personally leave the front nose and rear spoiler the way they are stock. but then again i do tend to prefer the stock look on the outside over many mods......i just love the SS hood tho :hail:

Looks like you got some nice plans. I would go with the billet grille, and the 91-92 hi rise. But that is just my opinion. With no rear spoiler, it looks like theres something "missing". Although that 5" IROC spoiler would look reaaaaly good too.

I'd have a hard time deciding between 5" spoiler or high rise.

the more i see the "extended" grille the more i like it especially on that car, you should have someone photoshop a fourthgen TA wing on your car, that would be kinds sweet to see and I definatly dig the predator rear bumper how much does one of those run?

Here is the original for reference.

I did 95% of the photoshopping (some other guy photoshopped the SS hood on for me).

As for the grille, I think I'll do a trenz with a black lowering... I really liked the lowering of the grille idea as seen on that japanese orange camaro...

the predator rear bumper runs for about $200-250... I forgot, I inquired about it a while ago...

If you were going to do the "lowering" of the grille, I think you should use the 85-90 front ground effect, because its got that lip where you could end the paint. Where as the 91-92 ground effects just go straight to the ground.... its hard to explain but I hope you know where I'm coming from.

As for my opinion on the lowering of the grille, I think it makes your car lose its "mean" look, instead it makes it look like its tongue is hanging out.

Can some do a photoshop of his car with the regular Z rear bumber and grill without the extended black. And with the rims and SS hood and High Rise spoiler. So i guess the third pic without the Z bumber and minus the black extension up front

Thnx

Have you ever seen the predator kit in person? I took it off mine because I got sick of the big chunky rear end. I don't think the slots on it will line up with anything on your car if you are missing the rest of the kit....... Just my 2 cents.

I like the billet grille better.

Wheels look sweet.

I'm not terribly fond of the predator bumper either, but then I tend to be one of those stock fiends so my comment isn't very useful in this regard.

forget the bumber idea, but everything else sounds good. If you wanna do the black paint thing I say remove the center section of the bumper (behind where the grill goes) and make it look open, kind of like you are trying to show off a front mount intercooler, but you dont really have one, lol. Oh and get rid of the stickers.

Doesn't look cool to me. Excuse me, you have a banner and an emblem. Get rid of the emblem and the banner both. What is it with slp? Also, have you thought about ditching the door bumpers?

EDIT: oh, and shave the antenna

you do realize that there is no need for you to defend yourself every time someone makes a comment on your car that you asked for right? I thought you could take constructive critisism? All I said was I didn't like them, if you do, then hey, great. Keep em. After all, it's your car that you have to see every day. You will be much happier doing what you want rather than what others want.

Lookn good. I say do it like the first pic. I like that front lip thing too, I think you should do it. I plan to gut my front clip so I can fit a V-mount intercooler and I think the shine of the IC would throw the look off. But without an IC I think it looks tight as hell, and if you like it then definately do it. I think it'll look alot better than the billet grill (and this is comming from a guy with a billet grill). As for the rest, do what you like. I'm not sure how that rear bumper will flow with the 91-92 GFX (it was made for the early 3rd gens thats why), better check that out before you buy. And for the spoiler I say go 5 inch all the way. California style looks cool from that angle, but from the rear it looks a little odd (IMO) so people sitting at the light behind you might think your wing flew off or something. Sick of the highrise myself, so 5 inch is the way to go if you ask me. Nice wheel selection

I think the first pic is the way to go. Im getting ready to replace most of my front end by mid summer and I think I might do the xtended grill look. I really think it helps the front but it will be a tough decision. As far as removing the door bumpers , its a nice idea but I drive mine alot and would kill the first time I found that dent in the body line from me or someone else dinging it in a parking lt? Oh I also like the SLP sticker, it looks fine.:lala:

first pic is the best, i hate the ss hood but its the best of all your options so you can go with that (personally i love my iroc hood to death if i ever go aftermarket im just getting a fiberglass version of the same hood done), i like the idea behind the paint on the front bumper cover but i wouldnt copy that japanese camaro rack your brain for a bit and come up with something original. Also i would go with an aftermarket spoiler, the problem with that iis 99% of them would ScReAm cheese on a camaro but im sure you could find one out there that is tasteful i know im still looking for one.

I really like those rims...they look killer. About the spoiler...I say keep the high rise. It looks the best in all of those photoshop pics. Ummm...and I wouldn't lower the grille unless you stick a custom billet in there. In those pics it just looks like your car is opening wide and saying "AAAHHHH."

What's wrong with the SLP sticker on his car, as long as he has some slp parts on his car I can't see anything wrong with it and it also makes his car stand out just a little

I think the 3rd pic looks absolutely awesome!!!
How about a body-colored grille? Maybe with some "frenched" billet grille type inserts in the openings?
Just don't go with a std. Trenz grille - to me that wouldn't look "right" for some reason.

Just my $.02

Actually I plan to extend the grille with black plastic or metal and riveting it to the original grille. Then I would like to create a ram-air style intake through the grille to maximize airflow for the slp intake runners....

The third pic rocks. The rear bumper can go and the stickers can stay (not overdone). The grille mod is cool looking in pics but I think it would look like "azz" in person. The painted area seems like it would be way too obvious since everyone knows what the front of our cars are supposed to look like. If it was opened up more and a (DIY) cool looking insert was made to fit in there, (maybe carbon fiber or polished aluminum) it would be one of the coolest things done to a grille on a thirdgen. Also I second the shaving of the antenna. Haven't noticed till now but it takes away from the looks of the car from that angle.

just a thought,

b-man
