Do people say you spend too much time on your car?

Does your significant other/family say you spend too much time working on your car?

Do they say you spend too much money on your car?

I don’t know about you but no matter how cold it is, I wash my car every Sunday. My girlfriend complains and my family does also. They wonder why there’s no leaning on the car, eating in the car, dirty feet in the car, or touching the paint (got to open the door with the handle).

Usually I spend just about all my money on my car and my girl friend gets pissed, even though she gets everything. I don’t get it, if a man loves his car, why can’t he spend time with it?

I mean it takes work/money to get your car looking this great-

lol, yeah i guess they will appreciate your new rear end wont they? Only thing bad about my family is, if i were to tell my girl friend of my mom, i'm getting a new rear end, they'd have no idea what i was talking about. My step-dad would becuase he was a certified master mechanic in '89. But hes gone now for 7 months to Iraq.

yeah mine is always asking me, when it time for a nother polish? i'm like, whenever i fell like putting one on. I have 5 coats of wax on the car. I dont think it needs much more.

I think i'll wax it today though when i was it.

so alot of fightin goes on lmao if yuve watched american chopper u know what i mean me and my dads same as they are bout workin and fightin. lmao

my mom and grandma are lik e y do u want junky cars for?
thoose are waste of money n all that junk.
i just think yea wait til its done and see what u say about it.
my mom seen it before i started and seen it now and was shocked shes like its a car now startin to look good and her bf said same thing.

i dunno if its good or bad but im single so might b good might b bad.

my gf would be like u spend more time on car then w/ me and more money on it n u love it more which would proly mostly be true lmao.

but bein single i got no comitments and nothin but time to just do what i want to my car when i want or the weather is willing.
kerosene is just expensive. 10 bucks for 5 gallons and my heater holds 10 and 10 will last a week maybe of steady days workin on car for 6 to 10 hrs for 7 straight days thats bout how long 10 gallons would last i think lol.

My family understands my "problem". They know how much the car means to me, i inherited it from my grandpa, but i would have much rather bought it from him if you know what i mean. Anyway, they dont mind that i spend a lot of time and money, its pretty cool.
When i first met my girlfriend i was taking her to homecoming this year and we really didnt even know each other, so i drove all nice and law abiding. Shes in for a surprise when spring comes heheheh. Shes also part of the rare breed of women who are interested in cars. She's always asking me about what im doing, and telling me how she wants to learn all this stuff, its great!

well my girl friend likes cars. Muscle cars, not r!cers. Anyways, she knows what a v-8 is and all but she doesn't know the physics of the car and all. I can tlel her door and she;ll know what i'm tlaking about but if i say, carburetor, she'll have no idea. She still doesn't understand that there is a difference between a wheel and tire. The wheel is the rim, the tire is the tire. I try to tlel her, but ya know.

Exactly, my mom tells me i can race, just be safe when i do it. Or if i tell her someone want to drag me, she'll give me the money to go to Jax RaceWays and do it for real.

She knows i've got speed in my blood.

Well, They all understand that my car is my true love...I've always looked for females when wanting true love, until i got this car I found that true love is when you can have something nobody else wants and know it's something/make it something.

I'm Young
I have a 383 (Built and bought myself)
My car doesnt yet have all the panels back, but guess what?

I don't give a **** its my car and you can like it or not, I really don't give a damn.

i know it will be something special to EVERYONE one day in someway or another.

But for right now it's special to me and thats alln that counts.

Yes. I am obsessed with my car.
I am actually excited that my girlfriend is on a play during the weekends for the rest of the month.. It gives me some more time to get this car ready for paint.. I get my paycheck.. then i call up third gen resource or summit, and it magically disappears! I don't care though.. It is all going to be worth it whenever it pulls out of the shop a deep black.. new interor and freshly rebuilt.

My name is Jeremy and i am a Camaroholic.
Is it a bad thing whenever talking about your car gives you a hard on? haha j/k:lala:

The #1 question asked to me by my car buddies is "So, when is your car going to be ready?" I've been asked this question for 2 years almost every day.

Everyone thinks I spend too much on the car, but I don't want another car, I love the thirdgen look, and will get another 3rd gen next year, most likely a Camaro convertible.

You could always construct them into some sort of a fort...so that way people couldnt get near you to laugh at you ..I used to do that with my blankie and legos when I was a little kid... it worked wonders..

geez, i don't see it as a "problem"

just cause the laundry room, basement, living room, and my bedroom all have parts that can't fit into the garage, because there's parts there too means there's a problem?

not to mention the UPS guy knows me by name now doesn't mean a thing either right?

man my old ups guy used to know my mom from ordeing ABC stuff. Shes just as hooked as we are when she gets one of them catalogs. But the ABC guy moved and mom was forced to break her habbit. My step-dad made her make her checks goto her account and that way he can monitor it.

I always get "what are you doing to the car now!"
I always find stuff to do...its more exciting than listening to kids yell or women bitch,so the car gets alot of attention

I mean no matter how much you buy for it or how clean it is,theres always something to do to it I always say to everyone: "why do you think my car looks the way it does"

I mean most of us care how it looks, and have to spend time and $$ to make it look good!

yeah my neighbor is always telling me,yeah you keep this car nice and polished and it'll last a long time. He thinks my 305 is a huge engine too. I think its puny. My new Lt1 383 soon to come will wlel then make up for the humilition of having to tell people my car has a 305. I'll have me a 6.4Li engine. Man i love the sound of that. It'll have a lt4 hot cam boasting over 450HP. My car is gonna put every generation(stock) f-body where it should be, behind my car.

I tell my neighbor, yeah my car needs new rims, he like "well theres nothing wrong with these one." I say, "they look ugly and nobody likes them, plus they add rotational weight." "well do whatever makes it faster i guess." I tell him i'm getting new seast(the brand new summit leather racing seats, $200 a peice). He says whats wrong with these ones, i pull of the $20 seat covers and he sees all the mess under them and says ok.

Always gonna be something new todo. I'm gonna keep my thirdgen forever. So i just might need to make it look good ya know. My car is gonan be faster than any corvette when i'm done. Eventually it'll have a supercharger, making it fast as ****. But still streetable.
