Yea, this thread is gonna get locked because your completely unreasonable. It's bs that cops think they're above the law, but you had a light out, she was in the right to give you a fix it ticket. Your insurance shouldn't go up for a light being out. There's not a judge in the land that'll hold you to a ticket for a light if you prove it's fixed and fight it, it's simply not worth their time. Come to your senses and grow up before you post.

A lock is indeed inevitable, but...

I've been pulled over five times by police officers. Some were very nice, some were rude - all are just doing their job. I respect their work and the people who have the ***** to do that sort of thing.

I'm sure if you fix the problem the court will throw out the ticket anyway.

Ya know, TGO rules aside, That post is uncalled for. If I were in the car with you, i'd understand the harsh language....but to take the time to type out all the vulgarities...man that's just stupid. I understand that she coulda let you slide, and I understand being upset, but that still isn't an excuse for the language.

If you knew it was gonna get locked........

I smell the Iron fist of justice coming....

story that makes me think of, the other night had a buddy just having a beer out by the car he came in (he wasnt driving and this is just standing in a parking lot). Undercover cop pulls up and tells him to dump the beer out hes not allowed to drink in public, so dumbass takes 2 sips of his beer, and then gets rid of it. Because of that 2 sips the cop wrote him up for a ticket which is no surprise. Then the guys all pissed after because the cop is a ***** for giving him a ticket.

USUALLY when someone tells a story about a cop being an ******* they are in the wrong and just have their head too far up their poop shoots to be able to realize that. Although there is always the odd exception where a cop is just going out of their way to be a dick

listen dude, don't get mad

you just have to due one of two things.

1. fix the light... take the ticket to the station, show them you fixed it. just say you were unaware that the light was burned out. they will more than likely revoke the ticket.

2. take the ticket to court. show them evidence (pictures) that you fixed it. like you said, it's unreasonable... license plate lights are so tiny you can barely notice them if they're burnt out. just fix it, and show them, and problem solved.

^ I agree. If I am out speeding, I expect a ticket if I see a police officer

One night I was totally oblivious, and was going 40 in a 25. I got pulled over, but let off with a warning. Maybe it was because I was very polite and respectful, and was totally honest, but I am not sure.

Bottom line is, yes she could have gave you a warning. But, Female police officers are tough, realize that.

It's not a moving violation, so it will have zero impact on your insurance (unless your provider is corrupt).

ive had good luck with the officers in my area, i guess it totally depends on the person and if they have a quota to meet or a strcit supervisor.

Yes, the iron fist of justice is here.

If you know its going to get locked- DON'T POST IT.

This has nothing to do with appearance and detailing. I'd be willing to bet that the cop wasn't going to give you a ticket, but you were probably being a rude SOB to her, so she gave you the ticket. Its just a fix it ticket, no big deal. That cop might someday save your life, then maybe you'll grow up and quit bashing cops.

And thank you to those who actually use the "report this post" link.
