Which would you pick! 93-97 Vette or 93-97 F-body

Im wondering if anyone has any experience's with 93-97 vettes .

I'm going to be tradeing in my 95 lt1 auto z28 for a 6-speed something? . I want a 6-speed bad, but im undecided on going with a vette or f-body. I only owned f-bodys. I have no experience with vettes besides some of the common parts the two models share.
I looking for opions on, handleing, power, preformance, cost, matience, of these two cars. This will be a crusier/fun type of car. Therefore im looking for bolt on preformace. My days of internal motor work ( boreing/stroker) work is over. Since the diffculty of my 383 tpi motor. So im thinking of stricly bolt on upgrades. With adding a supercharger in the end. Therefore when I blow up one motor I can just drop a short block in and be back in buisness

So here are my pro's and con's !
93-97 f-body
CON
1/ Harder to work on since the motor is pushed in the firewall.
2/ F-body's are longer , heavier, taller then vettes
PRO
1/ Tons are bolt on preformance mods/ and junkyard parts if needed.
2/ F-body is about half the cost of a vette
3/ Upgrades are cheaper then vettes.

93-97 Vette
CON
1/ Everything is expensive from the car to the parts
2/ Lack of preformace parts
3/ Vette clucth is about 800 bucks a pop
4/ Hard to find parts
Pro
1/ Its a Vette
2/ Independent rear / easyier to work on the motor since the front end lifts up
3/ Its more of the sports car feeling, no back seat, smaller, ligther, lower,
4/ It holds its value extremly well

Well thats all I can think of , I just having a hard time on deciding so what does everyone else think!! Imagine a 400+ hp Vette and F-body in a Car and Driver shoot out. Who would win overall.

I think from this board you'll have many nominations for F-Body, if you do, I'd definately find an SS F-Body. You make some good arguments, but I think the Vette has lost its way since the Stingray bodystyle was dropped in 1983.

Well I know this might be in the wrong forum. Wasnt sure where to put this post. But I did want to post on this site becuase I have only owned 1, 4th gen f-body. I know if I posted this on a 4th gen site they would have said f-body . But im looking for realistic thought's not just love for a certian car . Besides Corvette is chevy can't we all just get along

As for as SS yeah that be great and all but odds of me finding a
6-speed,leather seats and lt1 for and years 94 -97 in the price range im willing to pay is probally unlikely. If im going to spend more then 10grand on a f-body I might as well spend 5 more grand and get a vette ( talking about cars not upgrades). And if I were to break over the 97 yr mark WS6 RAM AIR IS FOR ME

The drivetrain between both F-body and vette is the same to
my noleage except for aluminum heads on the vette.

why would it be 800$ for a clutch ?

Its a very personal choice .. how much of a trunk does the vette have? Insurance ... daily driver ?

The vette makes a better cruiser ..
The f-body has rear seats - bigger trunk ...

Targa or convertible?

If its a second car, the vette is a winner ...
tho Id personnaly keep a 3rd gen in this situation ..

Personally I would go for the vette, from my standpoint vette is better. I don't like 4thgen f-bodies much.

OK...

I have a 95 TA.

I say get a 6 speed F-body, not because I have one, but because the Vettes you speak of are ugly in those years.

IRS is over-rated.

Why get an LT1 6 speed if you can get an LS1 car for a little bit more???

You can get a nice LS1 6 speed for cheaper still than a mid 90's vette.

The only way I'd get the Vette is if it was a LT1 6 speed, otherwise, I say get a Ram Air WS-6 or an SS.

I thinkif you were to begin performance comparisons for the 98-02 F-bodies and the 93-97 Vettes, you'll begin to lean toward the F-body.
Although the F-body may not handle quite as well, it's got the Vette in power, Quarter mile, braking, and looks IMO.

If you have enough money to get a ZR-1, that's a different story altogether.

BTW- Put Eibach Sportlines on a 4th gen F-bod and tell me how good those Vettes look.
