Engine painting?

Need some opinions, I can't decide what to do about my motor. I just pulled it out to do some serious work to it, and since it's out, I figure why not spice it up a little. I already have it down to the bare block...but not sure what would look good with my odd color. Here's some pics, advice would be great.

I painted mine black as well. I know it doesn't seem "fancy" or whatever, but it really looks nice. I'd post some pics, but I really don't have any good side shots to show ya.

While they don't look as stock as black does, I prefer colors. They show dirt easier, which is exactly why I like them. It makes it so much easier to pinpoint any leaks or other problems you may have.

You have to paint it chevy orange. Its the only color for a chey engine. Thats what I painted mine and it looks great with the aluminum heads and chevy orange valve covers.

would it be possible to paint some of the engine while still in the engine bay? I wouldn't mind painting some of my engine....the parts that are seen maybe a satin black...

I agree, that is what I did with my block, had it powdercoated. That was well worth the money and is holding up better than any paint that I have used before.

Actually, I like the late '70s Chevy blue... My 350 is that color right now, and I like it.
