88 Formula with GTA wheels, what color should I paint the wheels?

I just traded the RA II hood for a set of Gold GTA Crosslace wheels and was debating if I should keep them gold or paint them red or black.

This is my formula with the stockers, too dark to take pics of the GTA ones,

black ZR1's,

I'll take some pics in the morning showing the GTA's on the car.

You'd have to keep painting them so they don't turn pink on you. I'd stick with gunmetal or black.

I would paint the hood before the wheels if I were you.

The white hood is my trademark.
Besides, I can rattle can the wheels and have them look good, I just can't paint the body, lack of talent.

This is my old set of GTA wheels I painted,

Did you paint those? If so, what brand/style of paint and is the color called Gun Metal Grey? I really like that look.

I can't answer for Aviator but, I know that Duplicolor makes actual 'gun metal grey'. That's what I painted my old beater with.

I got them from my friends 88 GTA. I traded him the RA II hood I had for them. He is using my Formula wheels on his car till he gets some other wheels.

Wait, I thought you traded the RA2 hood for the RA1 hood?

On the wheels, I vote black or grey.

I couldn't dissagree more. I find gold with red a bad combination. I don't think black rims make it look dirty at all. I would like to see silver the best.

What happened to that black set? And how many sets do you have?

Here's a wild idea, but not a cheap one... chrome this set.

Edit: oh, I see, lol. I thought that other set was on the same car, and the car was painted a different color. I see now that it's a different car, and the set of wheels probably went with the car, right, lol?

I trade so much stuff, it probably confuses everyone.
I had a Grey RA II hood that I traded for the white RA 1 hood.
I recently traded my 84 T/A hood for a Black RA II hood.
The Black RA II hood is what I traded for the Gold GTA Wheels.

this is the black hood I just got and traded.
The Black GTA Wheels I had on my 86 Trans Am were sold to a guy with a GN in DC when I bought the 17" WS6 wheels. I still have that car, it's been my project for 3 years.

They came that way from AFS. They were $400 shipped for 4 17x9.5 from an AFS Ebay auction. They are my brothers wheels, I just borrowed them to take some pictures of my car with them on it.

Since your body decals are white, I would go with the Gunmetal grey. It they were black, the black would compliment. The gold goes with nothing, looks like they were bolted on from another car.

Gunmetal looks like the best option. Besides, it will be destinctive. I agree that the red is just too much red.

What if I had Gold Decals made? would that look ok?

I just got another set of wheels and they will go on the Formula as soon as I get some spacers made.
They are 17" Cobra R wheels.
I may have these GTA wheels up for sale soon to pay for the spacers.
