ROH Snyper vs. SLP ZR1 Hyper Black
Decisions, decisions. I really like the Snypers, and theyre available in 9" wide. But I also kinda like the new SLP wheels, but theyre only available in 8", and theyre a little less. Heres a pic of formularpm's car with 17" Snypers. I havent seen the ZR1s on a bird yet.

I say go snypers...but as the others I am biased
The smaller ones are 17x8 and the bigger ones are 17x9.

What the hell do the hyper black look like? In the pictures they don't look... black at all. I really need to see them on a car in the sun though... anyone got any slp wheel pictures on any car in hyper black?

Go with the ZR1. The Synpers are getting played out and the lip on the ZR1 is the heat.
The only drawback is the 8'' wide wheel. Although I have seen up to 275 on a 8'' wide wheel. Hyperblack is cool too!!!

i dunno why, but i dont like the way the painted zr1s look. i was hoping somebody else would have a picture of the hyper black ones. if i go with the synpers, i might get 8" anyways so i dont have to worry about rubbing. ive heard the 9" may rub a little with stock brakes, ive got ls1s, so it made the track with .5" bigger on each side, and i dont think anybody has snypers with ls1s

Played out or popular for a good reason, they look awesome on these cars and they are affordable. 17" Snyper are the way to go.

There is a big difference between played-out, and played out on TGO.
I have never seen one thirdgen in person that had snypers on it, other than mine.
I HAVE seen a couple thirdgens with TT2's for example. Keep in mind, that just because there are 15 or so people on this message board with snypers, doesn't mean the whole world has them, you'll probably be the only person in your town with those wheels.
And I think they look sick!
esspeically if they were polished, but i'm way to lazy to do that.

Very Very true...I never see anything around town that I see on this site. The cars on this site are some of the best 3rd gens in the country. Thats because the people on this site are car crazy.
Also, I think the ZR1s look kinda cheap because of the paint. I prefer unpainted wheels. So obviously my second arm also says Snypers.

Hmm playded out when you consider your community the whole internet...
How many cars are in your immediate area that have those rims?
I like them both equally, you can't go wrong.

that's the bad thing about showing off a good looking car on this board...everybody wants to copy it. I agree that the spokes are too thin on the snypers...only if you plan on keeping a stock brake set-up, if you plan on going aftermarket then they are perfect for showing them off!!

It's not so much a bad thing and your right...it's not like you'll see a car just like yours rolling down your neiborhood.

They are a couple with them around here, but none with the 3rd gen ZR1's.
I don't know. The lip on the ZR1's just make them that much cooler. Now if we could get them in 9-9 1/2'' wide it would be even better.
Plus I like the thicker ZR1 spokes.
Chris.......getting married so can't get either at the moment

while, i decided on synpers. i was going to go 9", but i decided 8" since nobody running the ls1 brake conversion has snypers. got them from jdwheels.com $725 to more door including lugs and valve stems in 4 days. i ordered 245/45/17 hankook hr405II from roadwaywholesaletire.com for $355.60 to the door, and they should be here friday, then i can get a pic of the car on the ground. btw, ive got an eibach prokit, so hopefully the 45s will fill up the wheel wells nicely

edit: hmm, not sure why but i cant get the pic to show up for some reason

i have to be partial to the zr1's. I guess its just a matter of taste...hopefully when i get the 13" HD corvette brakes on the front I will be happier with my brake setup on the front. The ZR1's are much more appealing to my taste.

yeah when i installed my prokit it dropped it down right away..
this is almost a year later and its preety much the same, but lemme tell you its impossible to stick my fist inbetween the tire and wheelwell, can only imagine what the sportlines would have done

im glad i went with sportlines, I noticed the drop as soon as i sat my car down. I did the rears myself and had a shop do the front, and when i dropped the rear and set it on the ground it was instantly noticible how much t dropped. But now it doesnt look any different and i want to lower the rear a little more.
