I too was thinking about turning one of My cars into a race car, but i am not shure i wana do that to a 3rd gen....... But hey at least it wouldnt be sitting in some field just rusting...

And i was thinking something with A checkerd flag on the back corner of the car, to where its on top and wraps arround to the corner but just in a corner not the whole rear end. And then some flames and a regular paint job...... Maybe some lil extras here and there.

Please no Batman symbols or superman stuff..............

Hey Matt old buddy,

Did you ever see that movie with Burt Reynolds called "Stroker Ace" There was one car in there with a paint scheme just made for you. The car was painted to look like a plucked chicken.:lala: BTW, J/K.

Bright Green!! hahahaha. So what class will you be racing in? I'm thinking about pulling all the glass on my 88SC and turning it into a dirt track car.

they dirt track in hawaii?!?

anyhoo, back on topic.

painful, blinding hunters orange could work. plus the paint is cheap in a spray can.... paint the car with it..... if you need a number, pain 01 on the side in black.... dukes of hazzard style.
id put a american flag on the roof too... then again, im a "yankee".

Yeah believe it or not we do have a dirt track. I want to get involved with the sport so I can practice sliding a 3rd gen around legally. I'm really into drifting, and we only have one legal track event a month. I refuse to drift on the street (because of the type of job I have), so that pretty much means I only get to slide once a month. But if I get involved with dirt track racing too then I can get more legal practice time every month. My good friend Brian that is helping me build my drift car used to be a dirt track racer. He even still has his track car at his house (though its more of a trophy nowadays). I got a picture of it here. He said all I gotta do is pull all the glass and chain the doors shut and we're legal to participate. Not sure what class though ... I'll have to check up on it some more.

I've also considered running a dirt track style front end on my drift car (welded supports, dirt track body panels).

Yea..Im just gonna be in the pure stock..everything has to be stock..but as long as its a stock engine in any same make car..for example..gm/gm..crysler/crysler..ford/ford...so i can take a camaro or firebird or anyhtin else thats gm and put any engine in it thats from any other stock gm car..like a brand new 2005 corvette engine.. if i was willing to spend a ton of money ...a 454 or a 400 and now they even make cars with 502's stock ..ya i would lap everyone 4 times before end of race . ..but im sticking with a 350 and its got a turbo 350 transmition in it..Hmm..Ya i might stick american flag on top..sounds cool..more ideas people..and crazy...just print out the rules from your local track on the internet and find out what you can do for each class

I used to work on dirt cars for years. I never saw a thirdgen dirt burner either, but I can't wait to see yours! I really don't think your paint will look great after a few features, but damn they look good before that first night out.

keep us updated on your dirt adventure. it's gonna be great...

There are a bunch of 3rd gens at my track..mostly 2nd gen yes..actually last night I went down there again and a third gen Berlinetta won 1st place with an awsome pass to get into first...he was in 3rd place for half the race then managed to pass both of the guys in front of him in 1 swoop around the turn!! the he hel first the rest of the time but it was close they were all close...Bad accident held up the races for like 45 minutes or more...6 car pile up...front ends smashed in and one dude went to the hospital in an abulence with a broken neck and back and on an oxygen tank.. But the races continued and 2 more bad accidents!! One guy got T-Bones in the Modifieds at about 80 MPH..He was the winner and turned to the right of the track and stopped ..To recieve his trophy like they do..But right before he turned there was a guy in second passing him on the right at about 80-90MPN for another victory lap...he turned ..stopped and SMACK!! No time...T-Bone!!..He jumped out yelling..ran over to the guys car and started trying to punch him through his window ..But it was fun night..never seen so many accidents..but tons of competition...I race in pure stock by the way...Dont have enough money to race super or modifieds.
