looks good
i would paint where the lugs go with black like it was stock since it is an area that does not polish well.
you may get a better shine still yet with some white rouge and a die grinder buff attachement. you can get them from eastwood.

did you use power tools or just the mothers by hand?

Yeah i think that i will paint where the lugs go black. never really thought of that before.
I used a dremel for the little cracks and corners and sanded the rest. My hands are still recovering, unfortunatly i still have 3 to go
I just buffed it by hand with mothers but i will probably use my buddies buffer on it

you can get buffs that fit on the dremel. i got sanding stuff for it too. check out that link look at all the neat junk they have to save you fingers. i haven't done my wheels yet but i did complete all the other goodies, tpi runners plenum tail lights altinator. i beleve the sanding stuff is called spiral, adn cone sanders. all you need is the srbor and away you go. get two they bend, don't want to sand with a bent arbor or you will have to sand agagin.

Lookin good man! Polishing is a pain but it really pays off. 10 hours is nothing... I know I spent atleast double that on my first couple.. but I had to tape off for paint and everything too. Keep up the good work, post some pics when you get em on your car!

Think I'd polish down in the spokes and the outer edges, then sand and paint the open sides with some darker metallic grey, about like the 16 inch IROC wheels. Paint the center area like you did. Level of difficulty is way to high for the whole wheel, but it does look darn good.

polished and painted irocs
Heres mine I srtipped them with tal strip 2 for aluminum surfaces. I sanded from 320 400 600 dry then 800 1000 1500 2000 wet. Polished with mothers, masked off and painted inserts with high temp silver engine paint. Did it all by hand because all the tools I had tried left machine marks even on low. They look real good right after you polish them but I need some zoops sealent or something. I started to clearcoat and got one done, let it dry for about 2 days it made them much duller. I had to strip it all over.So these are bare polished aluminum 88 Iroc wheels
