I dont have any websites just for my cars, but I wanted to point out that running your own domain is not as expensive as some might think. Back in the day when I was just goofing off I was able to run my own website for FREE. I think it was http://crazyhawaiian.dhs.org or something (no longer works for sure). All I did was find a free domain name service, signed up on hammernode for free DNS (www.hn.org) and then pointed my DNS to my home computer on a cable modem. Never turn the computer off, it never releases the IP, and there you go. Only downsides were 1. you'll have someone elses domain name tacked on to the end of yours (example whateveryouwanthere.freedomain.com), 2. constant security issues on your home computer as DNS now resolves to your home computer and people are scanning you, and 3. poweroutages or something of that sort that causes your IP to change and now you gotta update the DNS which takes a few days ... so website is down for a while. Still ... not too bad for FREE. Nowadays I do use a real hosting provider that can support the ammount of bandwidth I think my website will push once the video's are uploaded, and total cost is around $150 a year which I still dont consider too bad considering what I have (40gb/month supporting 3 websites). I guess CarDomain is cool, but I've never been a fan of those "community" types of services so I never signed up with that stuff. I would rather just run my own website (free or $150 a year, no matter).

Not interested in being 'the best' but, hopefully helpful, at least, with the collision guide (which I will make more browser friendly eventually, time permitting).. see sig....

I threw this one together in a couple hours. I just bought a digital camera, so the site is probably due for some updating, or possibly even an overhaul

I went with a personal site just to sort of log my adventures. I have everything from my first 16+ sec 1/4 mile times down to nasty engine bay pics up to its current status.
I always love seeing sites showing detailed build-ups and restorations. Just showing pics has little value to me. I enjoy reading the story behind the car. Im planning a very detailed site for the 68 C-10 truck Im currently working on.

www.transamws6.com is mine, but I haven't updated it or refined it in over 18 months I think. I use it mainly as an image/video host.

Gen X Mar0 I like your site! I want to get mine to look nice like that eventually. Here's my crappy site anyway. It REALLY needs to be redone. It's looked a lot like this for a few years now, and I think it's ugly, just havent had time to redo it.

I made mine for school to just meet the criteria they wanted. Now I need to fill it with actual content. Probably start with the before and afters of my all new interior going in. (carper, console, corbeau TRS leather seats, 4 point harnesses, s&w roll bar and new misc little parts that were blemished in some way)
Better get it done before the new semester starts! I will probaly drop the background music although its so fitting. I will prolly keep the exhaust clip on the Z pictures page.
Thanks for the compliment !

wow gumby, I think W himself would be impressed by your homepage. I mean just look at the MS Paint work you did on some of those backyard monstrocities. Your site is proof that just because you can build something yourself doesn't mean you should... or that it'll be better than using someone else's proven formula. I don't get how you can justify your holier than thou mentality.
Finished pictures are great, but I agree that showing the progress made on a car is awesome. It definitely provides inspiration for one's own project. Now that I think about it, I'd really like to see how Kandied and Flyinlow89's cars looked when they first bought them.

sorry guys, have a few comments, cardomain here for a few obvious reasons:
full-time student
adjunct professor
full-time insta-dad
spend more time on car than web
am looking to get a full-time site up sometime but also have a full-time life.. as I am sure some of the other "lame" people do.. or at least those over 30.

Site is a lame old cardomain...RAIF It was easy to tinker with at work...
Not enough time to learn and get up a real site!
Site is a bit behind. Been doing more work, less updating...
But how about site with most pics!
1000+
Now if cardomain would get the sizing right. Planning on redoing the whole darn thing at some point soon...
Check out my other car's sites too...Links in sig!
