There must be some rules. Anyone with a cardomain.com site is super hella lame. To cheap to buy a real $5 domain but willing to spend $20,000 on some rims. = Super hella lame.

Well mine is ok. I made it through Tripod, it was really easy and I think the format is pretty good. I haven't even touched on some of the things that it can do.
Maybe we should have a vote or a poll on this. Everyone that has a site, post it up here and we'll all vote on it.

x100

Not everyone has a problem buying a $5 domain so they get a CarDomain site. A lot of people don't know how to create their own webpage so they use CarDomain to have a simple place to put their pictures and info and not have to learn HTML or FrontPage or anything else.

Plus, it gives them an online "community" with which to post comments back and forth, and has a "voting system" built in.

Yeah. How lame that not everybody in the world is as good at web design as Gumby.

Now that's an unfair attack. You sound bitter and terribly jealous.

I love cardomain sites, they're east to setup and easy to access. After all, it's the pictures the majority of us are interested in seeing in the first place.

Actually I kind of agree with the whole car domain thing. I personally will not waste my time on any of those homepages. But then again, i'm just as much of a computer nerd as I am a car nerd.

cardomain.com = Super Hella Lame P.E.R.O.I.D

Just a FYI hits does not equal visitors.
You need some full web stats to see real visitors.

I get 15,000 hits a day at one site
But only 4-500 are real visitors.

Hey Gumby every thought about spending money on a V8 instead of a website......

Cardomain.com link is in my signature, but unfortunatly, my wheels don't cost $20,000

Saying "Super Hella Lame" is probably the lamest thing Ive heard in a while. Im on cardomain because i did my site when i was like 17 and i didnt know how to do a website or ahave a credit card to purchase a domain. I now have a site (not the greatest but not gawd awful) and i continue to use cardomain as a method and alternate route of getting info/pics of my cars out there. Alot of people see cardomain sites and they are quick and easy, and an easy way to meet people who share a common interest. Its a community.

click the site in my sig (with the vette on it. its not 3rd gen only, but it has my GTA on it. Its my first site so its nothing overly great)

I kinda agree about the car domain sites but not for the same reasons as Gumby. Thats just Fken GEY. and jealousy.

I dont like it because your limited to picture size and Damm Id like to see alot more HI quality pic's of some rides found there.

As for the everyone cant make a nice webpage. thats a cop out If I ever heard one. Who cares if its nice. Like said above 99% of what is wanted is the pictures do a thumbnail page with clickable images to the high res. ones. There are FREE webpage creators that make it just as easy as cardomian to do.

on that note my site isnt about my 3rdgens but I do have pic's of mine. and MORE pic's then you can shake a stick at of every other one Ive collected pic's of.

he does have a nicely designed site...he just needs to add some more content, but I am sure that will come with time.

I'm not the one flaunting my political views on a car site.

Like the dude with the sig pic of the monkey in a suit..

Wow, people are idiots.

For starters, I cant see you getting 4thousand hits to a site that has rusted bikes of different brands welded together.(or Yahmaha motorcycles)Hell, if i owned that webpage I dont think i would be able to look at it that many times.

Further more, in the webpages that ive owned/built, ive never seen any domain names for 5 bucks. they were usually like 10-20

Maybe there are some that are 5, but your forgetting something very important. With just a domain name you cant do ****. You needa hosting provider to host the site on.Now if your talking about some money. Depending on the plan, if your going to host lots of pics, high res ones and all that, your going to be paying at least 30 dollars a month. The more things your hosting provider has, ftp access, cgi bins, support of diff languages and so on,its gets more costly. In comes car domain, sign up, put in some info about your car and upload pics, people can rate it but thats not even the important part, its the fact that if you want to show your car you can, in a community of other cars on the web.

Now if your talking about buying a domain and pointing it to a free hosting site like geocities, angelfire, or even cardomain, then that my friend, is just lame.

And i dont think anyone here has spent 20thousand dollars on wheels.

So if you want, check out my cardomain site.

Simple and to the point...I need to get a lot more pictures up there though.

Oh yea, hosted on my Mac at home...free no-ip domain. Just as cheap as cardomain assuming that you have broadband to start with.

i have an old cardomain site too

I myself prefer a "real" site hence i bought the name (plus its better then some midget **** or sumthing that i wouldnt knwo about lol).

Both accomplish the same thing, just one costs more so you get more benefits is all (email, ftp, etc).

My website isn't all that great, but it's my documentation on what I've been doing with my car. Nothing has happened in a great while due to major back surgery. I guess I could take pictures of the parts I've been stockpiling for the day I can get back to the car!
