nope....a guy name mark from ohio beat me...i ran pretty late with everything and wasn't able to judge til sunday. got caught in a rain storm on the way to the show which pretty much ruined everything for being clean. the judges weren't to keen on the air ride and i didn't have a first aid/fire extinguisher once again.......always forget that thing as it's 3 extra points.
anyhow it's all in good fun....the people at the show make it all worth while.

Image removed- I believe I remember emailing you reminding you of the rules. Three images per thread means three images per thread. I know you have a cardomain site, make a new page of Superfest pics or somethin. Thanks.

yeah the cowmaro was a little different but the guy who owned it was really nice and it was his style so we all went along with it.
the picture above is of the 84 that won my modified class...judging was rather odd this year. two guys from here tied 3rd place and i tied 2nd place with another member. the setup was a little off as well. next year i'm just going to go into show car class as they count my type of mods much better. you can't compare cars like above to ones like mine and they try to do it....we'll see.
as far as the handles i'm not sure, working on the new paint scheme right now and the car is staying as it is til november when i disassemble it for paint and new body work. we'll see then. no more mods for a while....i'm just going to focus on getting it to run right and drive it.

OMG PLEASE TELL ME THAT YOU ARE JOKING...
that stock car beat you? common now...please..please tell me you are joking..
if thats the case..i dont think i will be bringing my iroc down next year..it will be a waste of time and money if thats how they judge..
a car that has "a set of 15 inch rims* beats a car that prolly has over $20,000 in modifications (maybe more)..there is something seriously wrong with that...
and what part of the air ride suspention didnt they like...and did they judge you on "they didnt like certain things on your car" or did they judge it professionally...cuz..i would have lost it if they told me that they didnt like my air bag setup...specially cuz it usually costs around $4000 (canadian) to do an airbag setup for a vehicle..
i await the "JUST KIDDING" in your next reply jeff...

Wow, I can't believe they picked that car over yours. You have more money in one wheel than he has in all four of his with tires.

no i am not kidding, no need to put another thirdgen owner down though. the car was obviously in nice shape if it won an award. i agree that they are two different cars entirely but it's just a show and it wasn't as if money was on the line....it's all for fun. i did question the fact of how different they were but when i was asked if i wanted to be moved into a trailered show car class i declined since i would have been the only car and i drive my car alot so i don't consider it a trailered car. i'll have to wait to get the judges sheets back before i can see what was really torn apart or not but i'm assuming it's mainly because of the weather as like i said i drove through alot of nasty things to get to the show rather then using my trailer to take it there.

here are the two cars that tied for third.

yes it's very clean, procharged 350.
as far as the show itself, well it was my own fault. i could have trailered the car over there and had it prestine. however i thought it would be cooler to drive it there since i do drive the car anyhow. as soon as i unloaded the car and headed to the show it began to downpoor and the rest was history.
with 10 minutes left til judging i sprayed it down with a hose and wiped the car off the best i could but there wasn't much i could do....it was a chance i took which was fine with me as there are only so many plaques and trophies you care to keep around after awhile anyhow.
it really was great to see everyone though and i appreciate all that came by to check the car out and say hello. i look forward to the next show with all of you as it's always a good time.

jeff,
by any means was i not putting down another car...i just dont understand the concept of cars winning when there are better cars in the division that deserve the win...
it happened last year at the camaro nats here in niagara falls...
i think i need to be a judge at one of these things..at least i know where to put cars and what to look for..
hope to see you at the nats next year jeff..

Just goes to show you money cant buy everything, even a trophy.
82-84 3rd gens rarely get respect, always overshadowed by later versions. These platforms help usher in the performance we see today.

I agree with you
I'm not knocking jeff's maro. i like it alot as he probly knows by now. but theres really no reason to be making fun of someones car. its not ugly, but imo its not the nicest camaro's i have ever seen ethier but it is clean and very nice. so i like it.
besides as 85 T/A WS6 stated if it wasn't for cars like that, your car wouldn't be much better
This year's theme of the show was "Berlinetta"...
Judges are all from a corvette club...so they shouldn't be to biased.
I was suprised to even get a plaque...but some how i came home with 2...hhmmm...go figure.
But i had alot of fun hanging out
next year Jeff and Pat, be ready for the auto-cross.

maniac/kandied,
from the pics you have seen of my iroc now as it is..
how do you think i would do at that show..?
one of the guys that was at our show (the nationals) told me to come because it would add something a lil different to it (the show) but i couldnt because of previous engagements/lack of funds/esteem of my car against the american cars..
just a question i was wondering about..
hopefully ill have a trailer next year so i just will get it trailered over next year...but we'll see

You'll do good as long as your car is exceptionally clean top to bottom and inside and out. and you have all the little added points things like fire ext., tool kit...
Next years theme for the show is IROC-Z...

really fire extinguishers add points there?...hmm
my car is always clean..i hate when it has a spec of dirt on it...
although i have some work to do..(mouldings on the doors and ttop roofs are in desperate need of replacement) as well as i need to really focus on my engine compartment this winter AFTER ii get that new motor in..
are you kiddin when you are sayin the themes are "......."?

Well, I dont have much experience with shows, but if my car was wildly modified (like iroc2nv or kandied) and a stock looking car won the last show over wildly modified cars, I probably wouldn't go. Some shows just judge higher on different criteria. Just like 2 years ago at a local show, some lame cavilier with an intercooler and no F/I (thats right, its a prop) won the domestic performance category over a Z06 with MTI 422 LS1 and juice that runs 9's on street tires. Now everyone knows that show is a joke. Anyway, good luck if you do go.

thanks pat for posting other pics...
MetalliCamaroRS don't worry...took all the pics down for you!!

everyone else, car shows a car show....i drove it through the rain so obviously it was pretty wasted. few things weren't finished that made it looks so because of the lack of time so it happens. i agree though that different criteria should be set fourth for certain areas.
as far as the show itself, i think it's a great show with great people....pat and larry can both attest to that. you want to get noticed with your thirdgen it's the place to be.
the only thing, if anything that i had to gripe about was two points really:
for one getting extra points for a fire extinguisher and first aid kit is plain rediculous to me however it is their show so it should be respected. just seems like a cheesy way for others to just inch by one another as it's only worth 3 points.
two, why have a tie in any class? your telling me that you can't pick between two cars which has more points over the other? what is the need for something like this? a tie is just rediculous..
anyhow as i said it was a good show and anyone that is considering going should do so. however do not go if your only mission is to win an award afterall next year you may tie for 1st place.

another pic from the show. Some jerk in a cavalier pulled up into the show and parked next to me. Needless to say they towed him. I found it hilarious.

last one. me at the show on saturday.
The story on the guy in the cavalier: I was working the registration booth and there was a pretty long line of cars and spectators and we were doing our best to get through it all. And all of a sudden that guy came ripping around the outside and I put my hand up for him to stop and tried to flag him over . . . but to no avail and it almost got me hit he was going so darn fast. So I after we tried to catch him he took off into the crowd and was lost. So we called the tow truck company after we announced his name on the PA and the Liscense plate number. I guess he got what was coming to him.
