I got the car when I was 16 and only had a permit. I'm currently 18 now. I got it as a gift form my 90 year old grandfather (some grandpa huh?) I've been working on it ever since. Its an auto V6, but I just bought a 350 TPI rebuilt to about 350 horsepower. Its sitting in my garage waiting to be swapped once i get all the parts I need.

Well, I have stock springs and bilstein struts and shocks. When the TPI goes in, I'll throw in the Eibach pro-kit I have sitting int he garage. I have spohn anti-sway bars, hotchkis STB, and spohn wonderbar. I just ordered last night the panhard bar, LCA's and LCA relocation brackets from spohn. Ever since I got the new rims and tires, I got real bad wheel hop. The LCA's and new brakets should fix it then.
So far thats all I can think to do. Got any other suggestions?
OH and of course sub frame connectors, but I might do that last when I have more money.

When you floor it, instead of your tires spinning, they "hop" or skip across the pavement and shake the whole car like mad. They don't just peel away. The relocation brackets and new LCA correct the geometry or just improve it enough so this doesn't happen. You get much better traction, and honestly, you don't look like an idiot with a bouncing car.
It also has happened when doing a brakestand, though I don't do that much anymore becuase my tires cost me an arm and a leg.

Wanted one since I was 14, I'm 17 now and I picked up a pretty decent IROC. These cars are so sweet, there are tons of them in town, but still people will stare when you go by.

that i'm aware of, i was the only guy in my class (just graduated '05) with an third gen. i think there was one kid who had a v6 fourth gen, but it wasnt in the parking lot very often. the only other third gen in our school was a junior who i'm pretty sure is on here (dustyJL) with a red v6 '91. another junior girl i used to be friends with drove a fourth gen v6 firebird until she crashed it into a pole (i could have slapped her, that car was in perfect condition with like 57,000 miles). so on any given day that i drove my car to school (like one whole week this school year
) the closest thing to my car was my friends built '87 monte SS. we used to joke about having the same motor (when we both had l69's) but then he got a built 350 and his car could absolutely dominate mine now. Junior Member

Just felt that I had to post, even though I'm an old fart at 38! I'm so JEALOUS of you young guys (& gals!) over the pond. Insurance in the UK is crippling these days, most kids can't insure a skateboard... Even 19 years ago there was no way I would have got insurance for any F-body. Mind you I'd have probably killed myself
Keep up the great work, it's heartening to see younger people who aren't into the latest r i c e

I've had my camaro since summer '01 when I was 13
. Now I'm fixing to be 18 and it's still a work in progress. I have a whole bunch to it though since it was a $100 rolling body!
Right now its halfway in primer, I've been doing alot of bodywork trying to get it straight. Hopefully Dad and I will have it painted by fall....
Here is an older pic.

my story
its so nice to see that theres this many people under the age or 20 that are into thrid gens, never would have thought. anyway heres my story: im currently on my thrid 3rd gen, and oddly enough, all 3 have been 87's. first one was a red Z28, LG4/700-R4. mom and i made an agreement that i'd pay half and she'd pay half, and i could pay her back, so we got it. had 64,000 original miles, and we still have it
Second one was a Silver Z28, T-top original LG4/700R4, i baught it not running, and upon doing some work, i discovered the vin plate on the dash had been switched, soooooooo after quite the battle i got my money back and got rid of the car (back to the schmuck i baught it off of, of course) Now im on my thrid, another 87 Z28, original LG4, has been swapped out for an 87-up 350, original T-5. It was just painted last fall, DuPont Black Saphire, with the gold ground effects. She's beautiful
no pics yet, as she's in the shop getting new ball joints, and a new exhaust put on, but once i get her home i'll have some pics up for you guys!
and i'd just like to add: i also pay for everything my self. cars, gas, insurance, repairs/aftermarket parts.

Wow....Where to start?? Well I am 17. WOOT WOOT.
My first car was a 1965 Coronet, that never got out of the yard, due to my mom fearing the V8......lol
Next I got a 1994 Cavalier, which was purple. It was a good car, and I miss it, but it blew a head gasket and I knew that by selling it was my only chance for a new car. So I sold it for Twenty Dollars........
Then I got a 1993 Saturn SC!, which my step-dad now drives, but it was too small for me and had way too much road noise......
Now I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant, which is pretty sweet, it has style and is a comfortable ride. I'm kepping it the way it is though.....(Say nothing about that famous chinese grain....)
I am currently in the process of saving up $500 for a 1991 Firebird. It's a V6, buy hey, you gott start somewhere. It has wiring problems and needs the front suspension rebuilt due to them sideswiping a pole, which hit the side and pulled it back.......yeah kinda sad......
Anyways I have always wanted a Third Gen. I was always more partial to a Camaro, but something about this Firebird just called out to me. Soooooo....to make a long story short. It will be in mine, in about 4 days.....Woot Woot....
