Help me with my cars apperance

I'm not completely sure as to which ideas I should keep or not when I paint my Camaro this year. I'm also thinking about some custom bodywork (nothing major though)

Also I will be getting some tips as well. Those pipes we're jsut a temp solution for needing a new exhuast

I'm going to repaint it the same Red but I'm wanting to put ghost flames on it. The color for the flames will either be the same red with some type of pearl & fine metallic mixed in. Or a tri-coat of a peal * fine metallic over top of it. For the pearl I'm thinking either an Orange or a Deeper, russett looking red. The flames will be a fairly simple design as well something like this...

Also I've been thinking of either of these small body mods.
First one which has been done a few times before, the fender vent mod from an 80-81 Z28. I have a spare set of fenders that are off the right now that I'm preping to be painted so I could easily do this mod.
Looks like this...

The other mod is to take the front lip and cut out a small section of it to give it a more aggresive look to it. My front lip is also off the car right now so this wouldn't be to hard to do. Also I would be the only person I know of to do this so It'd be original.
This is a photoshop of what it'll look like

For my wheels I'm going to polish them but I'm not sure about painting the inserts red again, paint them black, or polish them aswell. I'd like to but a set of !7" ZR1's later on down the road. Especailly since they now make then in the correct offset for the 3rd gen's.

Also some clear side markers cause I hate amber.

And thats it for now I guess. Gimme your thoughts please.

For paint go with a deep rich metallic marronish red, flat red is so the norm. make your car stand out.

For the fenders I would recommend the TA fender vents.

For the rims, polish them and paint the veins black, it will look way better.

For the front GFX mod do it, looks awesome. I will also add in that you should shave you nose emblem.

Instead of going clear side emblems use window tit and tint them black as well as the front markers.

i think it looks good and i think it would look great with black rims and some tire shine. try some magurirs polish paint cleaner and it might come out good and save you a paint job.

i noticed the 2 cars with the side vents (flyinlow and 84customcamaro or somthing like that) have the vents in the opposite ways

maybe some tips ? midas sells chevy emblem shaped tips they look pretty cool ive seen them on a monte carlo ss

I'm not trying to stand out too much though, only to the ones that know enough about the cars to notice.

Also I'm not a fan of the black markers/lights on any car that isn't black.

Thanks for the input though

 those pics were after I spent about 5 hours cleaning the car with Meguiar's products. The car needs paint badly!

And yes the vents are different ways. I'd most likely do it in the fashion 84CustomZ28 did his.

My car looks pretty much just like jimmys minus the t-tops, and its due for paint this winter as well. I've never been a real fan of flames or stripes or anything but the ghost paint jobs are pretty trick. I've been kickin around the idea of ghost pearl heritage stripes, just food for thought.

Either polish the wheels or restore them to factory look. And please, please get some new exhaust tips ASAP.

um , get rid of the exhaust tips, cut them off and clamp some turndowns on it . U could also do black things on the hood, paint them black . And for the rims , have them chromed or have them powercoated . or just do the exhaust thing and get air ride, thats about 1500 to do . Go for that , leave it lookin stock but have it so u can lower the begeasus out of it .

Ummm I appreciate the input, but this had nothing to do with what I was talking about.

If you do the fender vents, personally i think the smaller 3rd gen ta vents would fit in better. It just seems to me like the 2nd gen vents are a little too big and seems to clutter the fender.
I like the chin spoiler idea. It gives it a little more aggresive look.
Your car looks clean as it is, so even if you didn't do anything but rims, it'd still be a nice ride.

I saw a red saleen with the most amazing flames one time.. they just painted them on clear with a little bit of silver pearl to give it the ghost look and a tiny white pinstripe on the edge.. hard to imagine but it looked amazing you car lookds pretty nice the way it is tho

It'd still look sweet no matter what you decide to do with it, but I love the ride just as it is. I only wish there was more nice Z28s around where I dwell.

I'm gonna leave the fender vents out of it.

But I have started working on the front lip today. Doesn't seem like it'll be that hard, espcially if you ahve access to the right tools and materials

Let us know how it's coming along. I'd like to see some pics as you progress.

I'm taking pics as I go, I forgot my cam at school though

I haven't gotten into cutting yet though since I have to sand down the lip to the plastic because of stress cracks, and the lip has been painted 4 times already by the previous owner. So thats alot of sanding I gotta do first

if I had to do it again..I'm not even sure that I would install the louvers on my fenders. I recently found out that a company makes the louvers out of fiberglass...which would be WAY better because then....they could be seamless...leaving it with a more custom look. Since the louvers are made of aluminum...it's virtually impossbile to make them seamless on a steel fender. If they were fiberglass...I could have mounted them...and fiberglassed them into the fender...whould would have been smoother looking and more custom. Your car looks good....but I see where your coming from....it's definently cool to say you've done the custom work on your car. I'd say, atleast shave the antenna...it's by far one of the best things I've done

Also, if you happen to have keyless entry...I think it would be cool to just shave the lock. This might be something I'll be doing next spring

I already shaved off the antenna on my new fenders And yes I have keyless entry, but I'm thinking of implementing 4th gen doorhandles with the locks in them later on down the road.
