that would be illegal. reverse lights have to be clear. it would be cool if you could though. I would paint them and the amber lights all red.

That was the initial plan but the red turned out fairly pink and not very translucent, so I had to do something, I'm going to graft another clear section in place of them if I can ever find a cheap pair grid lights

replacing the amber with white/clear seemed to be the best option without tearing the lights completely apart, but IMO it's too much white. Though the grids might help it out a little...

Yes the red does look better. Did you do those yourself? If so please clue me in I was just planning on cutting out the pieces with a dremel, gluing them in and then sanding and painting the inserts again.

Photoshop.

I'm in the middle of doing some tail light stuff, but I got side tracked fixing things on the car rather than making stuff for it.

I may just try to sand n clear coat option myself. Long as I can get ride of the white out or haze and get them shiny again, I don't care about making them darker. Lights are meant to be seen.

I ended up just wet sanding and clear coating them.

its all I really wanted was a nice shiny look.

I did a 220 320 600

Then clear coated them well.

Sun baked so they would dry fast.

I stuck the images all on one page.
They look really nice.

Dial up friendly.

One thing that really helped and I did not know. The tail lights come apart. Its not easy for the gasket sealer they use but with little effort the lenses come right off. Much easier to work with apart.
