Rhino lining the engine compartment
I am going to do a complete color change on my t/a this winter and I am thinking of using rhino lining(spray in truck bed liner) for the engine compartment because of the chemical resistants and sound deadening.Anyone ever do this? How did it look?

rhino lining would be pretty thick. I think it woulnt look correct either. Many people have used POR15 though which would do the same job. Maybe look into that..

how would you handle bolts? that rino lining is pretty tuff stuff if you put it over bolt i'm not to sure you would even be able to get the bolt loose after.
on another note if i was looking to buy a car and i seen rino lining in the engine bay i would pass on the car...defitanly not my taste. i would paint it. a good base clear will hold up just fine would look better matching the body of the car. put sound deadner in the interior and it will sound like a new car off the factory assembly line. i used brown bread and the door close with a solid thud no noise rattles or anythkng like it was originaly.

I would not do this. Rhino lining is heavy and would greatly affect the way stuff bolts down and the way the front end of your car handles. Whats wrong with paint? You can deaden the sound of your motor in much more effective ways.

Bad idea in my opinion! That stuff is very heavy...these cars are already to nose heavy. Plus it won't last very long, if you have headers, down on the subframe rails. The texture is all wrong too.
