Prior to your first post showing what you bought, I had never seen one of those. That cage and side exhaust looks really badass. Enjoy it!

Is that original from the track, or has it been repainted? It looks too clean to have been raced.

Dood seriously, that is the best lookin 3rd gen race car I have seen! The decals and the paint scheme just flow so perfectly.
Is the engine a stock 305? What about the tranny? What about the suspension/brakes?
Tell us!

Great shots man! It still boggles my mind that ther are guys on this forum who don't know what these cars are. For others that wonder these cars are the reason for the 1LE special eqipment package that consists of the Corvette brakes and a special baffled fuel tank and pick up along with special springs and AC delete etc. There are many other interesting facts about these cars and still a few "mysteries" that we uncover from time to time Racing has its fair share of "secrets"

Excellent ride I would like to speak to the guy who did the restoration on your car. :hail:

basically it still has the stock exhaust but this is tapped off it. Its capped so you can drive it on city streets but you can take off the caps and its loud as heck.. which sounds kinda gross but nice @ the track

Tommy
motor is a stock 305 balanced & blueprinted @ Van Nuys Plant.
They made I believe like 200 of em, took the closest 97 of them and put them in the race cars and the rest went into production vehicles.
Brakes are 1LE all around, its got 3.42s in a 10 bolt, tranny was also blueprinted! and suspension was 1LE. They wanted all racers to have equal cars! no wonderbar either!

Makes sense. So its basically just a cutout to each side with the tip on there for at the track. Not a bad way to do it.

Interesting roll cage. Do you suppose that is an original unit? I was just wondering because it looks like the door bar comes out? Me like

10 bolt??? Should be a 9 bolt with 3.45's no? unless your car was ordered with the ten bolt and they swapped it out for a dana 44 which i know many of the later Players cars did. Hmmm... More mystery
