Show was ok i was disappointed when thye only put blowers and exhaust on em, not much for heavy modifications, one was doing low 13's and the other was low 14's i believe if i remember right

I must say those were two EXTREMELY clean irocs, and i dont really like irocs, or ttops tehy destroyed em by putting on them weld wheels imo, think they shoudl have left teh stock ones one

good overall show. had a lot of history abour camaros periood in there. yea they had big vortech blowers (went from 207 RWHP to 320-330 RWHP). one team installed a c&r rad and the other didnt have time. both had msd 6al's and nice 3" coated exhausts .

both got into the 13's, one ran around 13.39 and the other best was 13.95. the two old guys lost to the two younger ones. but all four guys just honestly couldnt drive.

but yes i was amazed at how clean these irocs were. i was dissappointed they modded these two and not some in a little worse condition. now two young import guns are driving OUR classic 88 irocs around that most people on this board only can dream about but would kill for...

Actually I was pretty impressed by the show.

I thought the times (at lowest 13.29 @ 105ish) was pretty damn respectable... For people having zero experience behind the wheel yet. With a little tuning, watch out!

I also thought it was great how they portrayed the IROC-Z cars. They portrayed them as being the baddest American muscle car on the road for the era, which was cool and to top it all off, they were actually pretty correct with a lot of the 3rd Gen info.

All in all, did we really expect 13 second cars? NO. After seeing them pull 14's with a beefed up GN, I figured we were all in for "16's city", but I was pleasantly surprised at the times they did pull.

Pretty good show, as good and as well-promoted an out-of-production 17 year old car could be.

History Channel

[edit]PLUS: At the end of the show, the kids (which were supposed tuner car advocates) said after driving the IROC-Z they were impressed and were probably going to keep them... How's that for irony? I wonder if we'll hear from them on TGO.

I wanted the older guys to win, because they were all about american muscle, and the younger kids were into imports. I think it was funny how the older guys had their car done before the kids did, and the kids didnt even put in the radiator either! I think the reason the old guys lost was because they were shifting manually, and the other team wasnt. Those were such clean cars though. Too bad they didnt intercool them too....

I thought the show was pretty cool. I think the white one got a 13.29, I didn't think that was bad at all with a Vortech, MSD, and an exhaust system...all on the stock TPI. The first run made me kind of mad when they ran a 14.1 on ET Streets . They should have put on some intercooled Prochargers .

I was so happy when I seen the white one, just like mine but much prettier. I might just have to spray mine white again instead black cherry/black rose.

It was a really good show. Made me proud to own an '88 IROC. Too bad mine doesn't look as good as the two on the show. That drag car was something, twin turbos and around 7 seconds, WOW!
