i saw a camaro that had these chrome plated stainless steel wheel well trim things on it and wonderd, is this to "***** for a third gen?". i personally love the way it looks but would like to know how other third gen owners feel about after market addons like this. IS IT RICE OR IS IT OK?

Dont worry about what people here think. Its not our car its yours. So do what you like. If you ask me Ive seen it on camaros and personally I dont care for it. But I wouldnt call it ***** either. I just dont care for it.

I agree, don't base your car on our opinions... Well, sometimes you can, But your never going to find something that everyone likes. Best bet is to do it if you like it. If you have a picture, I could give you my opinion.

Do whatever you want to your car, man. Thats why its YOUR car and not ours. Personally i dont like it, and i dont think its even a ***** issue. Its more of a homie drivin a slammed caddy listening to snoopy dogg dog kind of a thing. Leave it for the guys with silver capped teeth, and 25lb chains around their necks. Thats why they get all that stuff you know, to match their chrome fender trim.

I agree totaly! If you like it run with it. Personally I'm not too fond of it, but it's your car, you're the one that has to be happy with it, not us.

It's not really ***** as opposed to...well, i guess ghetto would be the word I'm looking for. BUT, to each their own, your car, your money, your opinion. I know People rip on me for having a huge cowl and no need for it, but SCREW UM', its my car.

WEll it looks like the pimp has entered the room. LOL. Well anyways what kind of 3rd gen do you have, I have a Firebird and take a look at my car. It has the stainless steel fender flares and they look sick as hell and I love them. The main reason why I got them was not b/c of a looks thing. One day driving home this big old rock got caught in the tire and flung up against the top of the wheel trim in the fender and chipped the crap out of the paint and I decided no more. Ever since then I got it repainted and the fender flares have been put on. I love the way they look: http://www.angelfire.com/ca3/86bird

I think they look absolutely horrible.

If you put them on, make sure to the the $.03 chrome door moldings and put it on every panel edge you have, including but not limited to the fenders, hood, windows and hatch. Liberal application of chrome tape will give your car that winning look and tell people "My car is fast".

Sorry. Couldn't resist. Do whatever floats your boat, but since you're asking for opinions, you got mine.

well, in my opinion (not that it matters), the chrome can look kinda tacky on some cars. What about the ones that are black or something...depending on what color your car is, they can look good, yet subtle.

The only car Ive seen the trim on was a Mustang. And if its possible it made it uglier.

To me, putting on that trim, would be like putting on cheesy bumper stickers, or those tailpipes that stay on with the one screw(those are the worst of all).
The only stick on mod that I would do, is tint.

I don't care for the big wide chrome trim, but at www.jcwhitney.com you can get door/wheelwell/ chrome trim that is just an accent, i think that really adds to your car. it's alittle smaller then the chrome trim like on a s-10. I saw a purple car with that and it was badass. He even ran it up the door too.

Now those in the picture I really don't like. The ones that only sit on the upper edge of the factory fender flare aren't so bad, but I think those are a bit too much

Well actually Formula90 I would of had to put that flap at the top of the wheel well to avoid that rock that caused the paint chip. Look smart *** , he asked for opinions and he got them, he didn't ask for members to start slaming each other.

here's my coupe with the bowtie sticker you're talking about also. the outside pic makes the sticker look faded, but it really isn't. i like it.

i also have red neons under my car, but hey, it is my car. if every third gen looked the same, then they woudn't be special to us. originality is the key.

Opinion: I don't like it.
Reasoning: What does it bring out? How we have fender gap? I always liked the body color style where everything that can be is painted the same color.
Remember: Just an opinion so take or leave.
Remember2: Everything looks good as long as YOU like it.

I agre with Jim85... There's a fine line between custom and overkill.
Also, keep in mind what it's going to do to Your paint if You ever decide to take the stuff off. I once put the rocker panel "chrome" stickering on My cars' sides...(I'm so ashamed to say that) and it was a horrible nightmare to get it off...not to mention what it did to the paint.
I think if You start with all that stuff, before You know it, You'll have curb-feelers,mud-flaps, and that trim tape (that Jim mentioned) all over every edge of the car. Just My little opinion... It's true, though...You gotta do what YOU want and like.

Chrome and any car made after 1979 don't mix.

Chrome looks good on classic cars.. those chrome wheel eyebrow things look like crap on ANY car.

I dont like it though it looks tacky. It kills the whole monochromatic look of the car.

I agree with Mike.. it highlights something that never should've been highlighted in the first place.

Ever see the cars where the paint is faded all to hell, and the car's rusting away, but they've got those chrome fender lips in perfect shiny condition? LOL...

no one should knock him for his personal taste it just helps the rest of us to look better. but seriously, if i were u i wouldn't put those things on your car. that is unless your in highschool then i guess it might be ok. you really should spend your money on better things though, you made the right choice with the car, don't mess it up!

hey did you guys consider this? Taking a wire wheel and getting the chrome off, then sanding down and painting to match the body color of your car? I like the way they flare out the fenders but definately not the chrome!!
